Sandy M’s review of Juniper Hill (Edens, Book 2) by Devney Perry
Contemporary Romance published by Devney Perry LLC 11 Jan 22

You can’t go wrong reading Devney Perry. At least it hasn’t happened to me yet, and I’ve read several of her series. I have a few more to go, but I anticipate having a good time with characters who could be my next-door neighbors, ladies who make the best girlfriends, and the heroes are to die for every time. Even grumpy heroes like Knox Eden.

Memphis has come to Montana after being disowned and giving up her former care-free life in New York. Montana is far away from all that glitz, so here she is. Now a mother with an infant on her hip, a housekeeper at the local inn, and hoping a new start is exactly what she needs – especially because it’s quite a distance from the Big Apple – Memphis is a bit glad the handsome and sexy Knox isn’t all that friendly. She doesn’t need another man in her life right now.

Since his sister talked him into renting his guesthouse to Memphis, despite his better judgment, and because his restaurant is inside the hotel, Knox and Memphis run into each other, despite the fact they’d rather not have that happen. Then Knox is deliberately seeking her out. It’s those days that Memphis’ worst days take on a new look. But Knox is having a difficult time not only with the irresistible Memphis, but also when her son, Drake, cries nearly every night, so loud he can hear the boy all the way his place. It seems even Drake is working with the fates to keep bringing these two together.

Get ready for an emotional roller coaster ride. This couple has had their own individual ups and downs, but they eventually learn any new ones are better faced together. I love the family dynamic Ms. Perry always has in her books. They do the heart good, and the Edens are no different. Definitely start at the beginning of this series, just to meet all the Edens from the start. You won’t regret it one bit.

Grade: A

Summary:

Memphis Ward arrives in Quincy, Montana, on the fifth worst day of her life. She needs a shower. She needs a snack. She needs some sanity. Because moving across the country with her newborn baby is by far the craziest thing she’s ever done.

But maybe it takes a little crazy to build a good life. If putting the past behind her requires a thousand miles and a new town, she’ll do it if it means a better future for her son. Even if it requires setting aside the glamour of her former life. Even if it requires working as a housekeeper at The Eloise Inn and living in an apartment above a garage.

It’s there, on the fifth worst day of her life, that she meets the handsomest man she’s ever laid eyes on. Knox Eden is a beautiful, sinful dream, a chef and her temporary landlord. With his sharp, stubbled jaw and tattooed arms, he’s raw and rugged and everything she’s never had—and never will. Because after the first worst day of her life, Memphis learned a good life requires giving up on her dreams too. And a man like Knox Eden will only ever be a dream.
