Sandy M’s review of Three Bells, Two Bows and One Brother’s Best Friend (Holiday Brothers) by Willa Nash
Contemporary Holiday Romance published by Devney Perry LLC 4 Nov 21

All of the Holiday brothers are those romance heroes we all love – tall, handsome, charming, sexy as sin, handsome as can be – you get the idea. Heath is no exception, and Stella has had a crush on him forever, starting back when they were kids growing up together. Now she has to let that attraction go when she begins working for his family’s construction business. But then everything changes when she learns…

Heath has had the same attraction to her for just as long. He stayed away because Stella is his best friend’s sibling and it’s the bro code you just don’t mess around with little sisters. But after that first kiss they share, they both can’t get enough of each other, and, boy, do they try to do just that. As they journey toward love, their getting to know one another more intimately, is a fun ride for the reader. Stella talks before she thinks and has turned-around colloquialisms that Heath finds endearing. He, on the other hand, tries to let family and friends – especially that big brother of Stella’s – know about them, but he ends up keeping them a secret for nearly too long.

Especially when he learns of Stella’s past with another “friend.” Suddenly keeping her a secret isn’t the way to go, but, again, before he can enlighten Stella’s brother, Guy pops him a good one and winds up angry with them both for their secrecy. It’s at this point Heath and Stella find their backbones – thank goodness, because the back and forth should we/shouldn’t we began to wear on me – and eventually everyone is happy for them. They are a charming couple together and I’m glad they stuck it out, working together to get where they need to be, despite my slight nitpicky feeling on the subject.

As with the other two books in the series, I had fun reading this one, enjoyed the humor, and, of course, loved the happily ever after. All three books are delightful holiday reads and I recommend them for a lazy afternoon during the season.

Grade: A

Summary:

I pride myself in being grounded. Sure, I’ve had my share of childhood fantasies. Winning an Oscar. Winning the lottery. Winning an Olympic medal for an athletic talent I have yet to discover. But the only fantasy I ever thought might actually happen was winning my brother’s best friend.

Heath Holiday.

My crush on him has ebbed and flowed over the years, but the day I started working for his construction company was the day I smothered it for good. Sort of. Mostly. It was on my to-do list. Making it a priority would have been easier had he not arrived at his family’s annual Christmas party looking ridiculously handsome in a suit.

Then he kissed me. We stepped into an alternate universe and he kissed me. I assumed the next day I’d just be Guy’s little sister again. The office newbie. Our kiss forgotten. Except he keeps showing up at my house. With gifts.

A gold bracelet carrying three jingling bells. Two dainty jeweled earrings, each shaped as a bow. And finally, he brought himself.

One brother’s best friend, asking if I can keep a secret.
