Veena’s review of Forever In Cape May (Sunshine Sisters, Book 3) by Jennifer Probst

Contemporary Romance published by Montlake 06 Apr 21

Taylor Sunshine is just marking time at Sunshine Bridal. She wants to paint and travel the world. Finally the time is at hand, she’s poised at the cusp of fulfilling all her dreams and more.  Of course, her muse has deserted her at this crucial junction and she needs help. Help comes in the form of inspiration and encouragement from her best friend Pierce, who’s always been there for her through thick and thin. If you’ve been reading the series, you know that Pierce is madly in love with Taylor, even though she’s completely oblivious. Is it finally time for Pierce to fulfill what’s in his heart?

Friends with benefits, just a summer fling that gets Taylor’s creative juices flowing such that she’s creating art that expresses the joy and creativity that is filling her life. Of course, their tryst has to be a secret from her family, but, as we all know, secrets have a way of finding an out. Pierce and the two men engaged to Taylor’s sisters have formed a pack and it is so fun to see them gossiping with each other.  We think girls have a pack? Wait till you meet Pierce with Gabe and Carter.

Pierce is also at a crossroads. He does great work and is well established and constantly in demand, but not all of what he’s doing satisfies the creative edge for him. As Taylor paints her heart out, he begins exploring opportunities to exercise his own creativity. He travels to Paris to attend Taylor’s exhibition and it seems that finally the two of them are on the same page and things are truly looking forward for them.  And then Wham!, it comes to a screeching halt.

This series has been superb with the emotional connection between the three couples and Bella’s little girl Zoe. While I suppose you can read this book as a stand alone, it will be so much more powerful if the three books are read in order. The family dynamics and chemistry is superb. The angst between Taylor and Pierce is real, and of course things will work themselves out into a happy ending since this is a romance.  I’m sorry to see this series end and can’t wait to see where the author will take us next.

Grade: A

Summary:

What happens when friends become lovers? Not what a wedding planner plans

Taylor Sunshine and Pierce Powers vowed to keep things platonic. They already have the best of each other: loyalty, friendship, and trust. Why ruin the perfect relationship? That kind of forever love isn’t in the picture anyway for a restless, aspiring artist like Taylor. Her sights are set beyond the horizon of Cape May and Sunshine Bridal.

The oceanfront hometown is part of Pierce’s heart—just like Taylor is. And it breaks at the thought of her leaving. As her closest friend since high school, he supports her desires, even if she must follow them away from Cape May. But when their defenses are down, all it takes is one impulsive, vulnerable night to change all the rules.

From old friends to overnight lovers, they make a new pact: explore a summer fling, no strings attached. But as the nights heat up and their connection grows deeper, hard choices must be faced. As summer nears its end, will Taylor and Pierce fulfill their individual dreams? Or are new dreams just beginning to come true?
