He has no other relationships, other than one-night stands, to take care of his needs. He’s resisted his attraction to Kinsley, being that she’s his best friend’s sister, and he does not do relationships. Now! No pressure, but his friends and family wait to see what he’s going to do next.
Kinsley is one of the sweetest characters I’ve ever met. She has no expectations from Rhett, even though she loves him fiercely. Slowly but surely, her love starts to crack the ice surrounding Rhett’s heart, but danger surrounds her. If Rhett cannot protect Kinsley and his unborn child, it will devastate him in ways his military service hasn’t. I am familiar with the more erotic writing by this author, but the sensitivity with which she has tackled Rhett’s emotional journey makes this book a winner.
I have really enjoyed this series, and the characters make it hard to say goodbye. I can’t wait to see where Ms. Kennedy will take us next.
