Book CoverVeena’s review of The Rancher’s Redemption (Millers of Morgan Valley, Book 2) by Kate Pearce
Contemporary Romance published by Zebra Books 26 Nov 19

Get ready for a deep emotional read and keep those tissues handy. Adam Miller has been a widower for the past ten years and is far from the happy-go-lucky, fun-loving guy who married his high school sweetheart right after graduation. Lizzie was best friends with Adam and Louisa and lost them both when Louisa died of cancer and Adam retreated from the world.  Nothing seems likely to change the status quo, until Adam happens to be on the spot to render help to Lizzie’s young son. Is there a chance to repair the broken bridge now that the ice has been broken?  Even as Adam struggles with repairing the gulf between Lizzie and himself, their father drops a bombshell. His ex-wife is coming for a visit and wants to meet her children that she once abandoned when she left them all behind. It’s almost as though the blows keep coming, Louisa’s father is in his final days, losing his own battle with cancer.  The entire family dialogue and the story behind their mother’s departure will wrench your heart and divide your loyalties.

In the meantime, Lizzie is in trouble. Her son, whom she loves dearly, is a result of a one-night stand. His rich father left town without a backward look, but suddenly his rich parents are making a play for the child and trying to prove Lizzie an unfit mother. Lizzie appeals to the only possible friend she has in the world: Adam. Will he come through for her and what will this bode for their future relationship?

This is a complex story of love and desire, guilt and temptation, siblings and parents, every possible combination of human relationships and the feelings that go with them.  As you navigate these with Adam and Lizzie, you’ll fall in love with Morgan Valley, and I, for one, absolutely can’t wait to read Adam’s sibling’s stories unfold.

Grade:A

Soon they realize they’ll have to find a way to forgive if they want to move forward—especially with
