Book CoverSandy M’s review of South Pointe (Providence Island, Book 3) by Dianna Wilkes
Contemporary Romance published by Amazon Digital Services 6 Feb 19

From the first book in this series, I’ve been a fan of Dianna Wilkes. Now with this third book in the series, I feel like all of these characters are family. Sheriff Sam and local restaurant owner Paige are finally acting on their attraction, all amid heartbreaking-turned-happy situations that keep them all reeling

Paige has just learned her best friend has passed away and she is now the sole guardian for the woman’s six-year-old daughter, Jess. Jess is a sweetheart who will steal your heart in every scene. Sam and Paige have always been aware of one another, but they’ve never acted on those feelings – until now. When faced with such loss and survival, they realize too much time has been wasted. Though they’ve known each other for a number of years, it’s warm and loving as their relationship slowly moves forward.

Then comes the fly in the ointment – another man is showing interest in Paige, which is another factor Sam is determined to make her his. Ben Hampshire has been on Providence Island for a while now, but no one truly knows the man. Though it’s Dana, our heroine from the first book, who figures out who he is and what he’s done. He’s pivotal in the mystery surrounding Dana, her past, as well as her future. At first you’re not sure if Ben is going to end up a good guy in the scheme of things, but then Ms. Wilkes weaves an emotional past for him and you can’t help but feel for him. When he meets Stacy, who works for Dana’s son Rhys, all bets are off and I am really looking forward to their book.

We do get an answer to the aforementioned mystery that began in Main Street. The root of evil turns out to be closer to home than anyone expects. And that evil gets exactly what’s coming to him. I enjoyed the twist of relationships that finally come to light at the end of the story, as well as all the family that has come to together after experiencing tragedy and betrayal. It’s nice to catch up with all the folks from previous books, especially Nick and Dana who started it all.

After getting to know Ben and Stacy in this story, I was hoping their book would be next, but it’s going to be Joshua, one of Dana’s sons, and Lily in Crossroads. However, there’s no release date as of yet. Which makes me just a tad unhappy, but then again I’m quite happy there’s going to be more books in this delightful series.

Grade: A
