Ghost Maker is part of the Ghost Seer series, and I have not read the previous four books. I did feel like I was missing something a couple of times when the story took off with an explanation of what happened before in the other storylines.
Clare Cermak is injured. It appears in the last book she was attacked by an evil ghost. She is off to Manitou Springs, Colorado, to find a good ghost who is a healer. Clair has a hole ripped in her side, and I was trying to imagine having sex with a gaping hole in my side. I think maybe that’s a little inconsiderate of Zack Slade and a real turn-off. So the sex part of the story is a little lame.
I feel like the rest of the story dragged out a bit. Clare and Zach would be off hunting the evil ghost, then stop all of a sudden and have sex, then run out and hunt the evil ghost again. The transition from romance and plot is stilted. Again, this may be because of my not having read the previous stories. I just don’t know. I also don’t think I want to backtrack and read the other books.
I did find some of the secondary characters interesting, but, again, not enough to start at the beginning of the series.
So if you decide to read this series, you may want to start at the beginning so you’ll have a more enjoyable experience.
