Sandy M’s review of Everything You Need to Know by Helen Kay Dimon
Contemporary Romance ebook novella published by Cosmo Red Hot Reads 15 Oct 13

If you want something different to read, this is the novella for you. HelenKay Dimon has given the women of D.C. some turnabout is fair play. In a city run by males of the sneaky kind, our heroine, Jordan, who has been on the receiving end of a sneak, has come up with a novel idea for women to look out for each other when dealing and dating the men of D.C., politicians or not.

Jordan is works a temporary employment agency, scurrying from office to office around town, not just to make a buck. This puts her in the perfect position to observe the men who are featured on her new web site, Need to Know – a place where women look after each other in either spilling the dirt about a particular man or letting a sister know another man is worth her time. The popularity of the site is growing by leaps and bounds. But it’s Forrest Redder who keeps his relationships under wraps, and she’s determined to do a little investigating to find out more about this handsome and fascinating man, especially when she meets him during her current assignment.

Not looking for a long-term relationship, Forrest is surprised at his attraction to Jordan. In fact, he doesn’t really expect to see her again, but when fate puts her in his path once more, he makes the most of the situation. He even goes so far as to have her temporarily assigned to his business as his partner’s assistant, which Jordan does try to get out of. But Forrest is a forceful and important man in town, he gets his way most of the time. Now they’re in close proximity, and it’s fun watching them in their cat-and-mouse game until Jordan can’t resist his temptation any longer. Ms. Dimon ramps up the sexual tension with witty repartee with the best of them.

In between all of this, Forrest is doing his own investigation into that pesky Need to Know web site, but when he discovers Jordan’s former dates’/boyfriends’  secrets and deceptions, he seems about ready to change his mind on the whole matter. Should Jordan fess up to her role in helping these women? Or will Forrest not dig all that deeply and let it be? What fun you’ll have in finding out!

HelenKay Dimon has become a favorite of mine over the last year or so. Even in her romantic suspense novels, it’s her strong characters and realistic and often very humorous dialogue that keep me reading. In addition, as in this case, her storylines are not the usual fare, giving readers something new and delightful to read.
