How many times have you read a story and wondered what would have happened if the author had pursued a different angle? Well, this is your chance to pursue various angles or the one that you would prefer to see where it could lead. While I thoroughly enjoyed the ability to drive the story, I am disappointed in the way some of the paths evolved, as well as with the final outcome.
The story picks up from the last book, Calling the Shots, and while it has some references to the previous characters and books, you need not have read any of the others in the series to read this one.
Mavericks has re-opened and Tegan is glad to be back in the club. She knows she has some fail-safe options and she also gets to explore some new opportunities.
This was my first experience with an interactive book and I quite enjoyed making my choices and following the story along the plot lines that I picked. Tegan has choices to visit different parts of the club and participate in different activities with a couple of different Doms. I truly appreciate how the direction and thread I pursued actually results in different outcomes and/or choices for Tegan.
For me the only rub is that I feel the storylines could have been developed more, especially in light of what I know the author can deliver from the other books in this series. I also feel the end is inconclusive and a bit cold.
I would recommend reading this book for the novelty, and certainly there are parts of the story that are very engaging.
