Christine Wells, author of Scandal’s Daughter, shares her wish list with us…
Top 12 Authors I wish had a historical romance coming out in 2008 (in no particular order)…
4. Anne Stuart [Ed.: Such a cool author’s site.]
5. Susan Elizabeth Phillips [Ed.: “Just Imagine” is a revised re-print of “Risen Glory.”]
6. Jane Austen
8. Lisa Valdez
9. Clare Darcy
10. Emily Brontë
11. Julia Ross
12. Philippa Gregory
Some of these authors are dead, some aren’t publishing at the moment, some are writing in other genres. But they all *should* be writing historicals for me to read!!
I heartily second Laura Kinsale. And add that I pray just as hard that Judith Ivory comes out of her undisclosed location–oh heck she doesn’t even have to come out of it, just write a book there and e-mail it to NYC already!
Great list. And I agree with Sherry about Judith Ivory.
Oh, Judith Ivory! Come back! Write me a book like Beast or Sleeping Beauty or The Proposition for Christmas! Christine, fantastic list. Perhaps we can get one of the TV psychics to contact a few of your people and do some automatic writing!
How could I forget Judith Ivory? Gulp. True confession time–I’ve never read a Judith Ivory novel. Better go and search the library catalogue!
Julia Ross is on my list, and I’d love to see Connie Brockway do another historical for sure. Judith Ivory is working on another book but think I heard she may have health issues delaying it. Sure would love a new one by her.
I wanna’ add Robin Schone, Emma Holly, Patricia Ryan, and Patricia Gaffney!
