Extreme Danger by Shannon McKenna
On The Edge
Nobody’s home at the millionaire’s estate on remote Frakes Island. And nobody seems to be watching. Becca Cantrell dives in for an illicit midnight skinnydip—and gets hauled out by a towering, hard-muscled guy with burning dark eyes. He seems to be in charge. Good. The man is the embodiment of her most intense fantasies. And she’s up for risky thrills…
Nick Ward can’t tell her that he’s spying on a vicious Russian crime boss. Becca could be his worst enemy: an assassin sent to kill him, a call girl sent to distract him, or the worst scenario of all—a clueless innocent. Anyway he looks at it, she’s trouble: beautiful, bare, dripping-wet trouble. The kind he can’t resist.
She’s not scared. After one taste of his hot mouth, Becca soon discovers just how fearless she can be. She’ll need it, too—because things are about to explode on Frakes Island, launching Becca and Nick into danger they could never have imagined—and a passion that could destroy them both…
You know the color on my monitor is so messed up I didn’t know until the last book got here with the cover flat for this book just how in your face the naked chick is. No really it looks like a shadow from here.
Do you like the cover? It has grown on me and goes well with her last two books. I think, maybe I will change my mind when I see it on the book. I will let you know ;). It does lead me back to the question of do naked chicks (shadows or not) sell romance novels.
I don’t like it. Nekked ladies don’t do it for me. Hawt, nekked dudes do and I’ll buy any book with some hot to trot piece of man candy on the cover. I’ll still get this one though cuz I like the author. Her covers not so much.
I like the author and will buy the book, but I don’t like the cover at all. It’s just too much IMHO.
Um, where are her nipples?
I don’t mind the cover; I think it’s okay, because it just screams suspense.
LOL – Meljean, I was thinking the exact same thing! I think that they will only go so far, ya know? Nips mean *whispering* s.e.x.
Put me in the Meljean and Lori column. And my first thought was exactly theirs…cover is fine but if the woman is nude why no nips?
I don’t mind the cover, it’s similar to her last book. Even though she changed Sean beyond all recognition in her last book, I’ll still be looking forward to this one.
I don’t really pay attention to McKenna covers. They have never really fit with her books before in the past, so I’m used to them by now. I don’t think I like the description of the heroine, though. I hope she’s not a clueless innocent. She’s done that already. Make her an assassin with a heart, or a hooker with a heart and no VD.
She is really skinny also! She reminds me of a barbie doll.
Plus she has no real boobs so no nips! LOL
I think the cover’s pretty, at least the colors, and I can’t wait to read this book! Seriously. I’ve been waiting for Nick’s turn for ages now. Finally! And it’s coming out on my birthday month! 🙂
I would prefer her in a pool since that’s what the blurb is about, but eh…the naked woman? Are they trying to show that the book is sexy or are they hoping to attract male readers?
The cover doesn’t bother me either. Agree that the no nips is a little odd however… Perhaps that would have been to risque?
I actually received a sample of the cover in the mail with the copy of ‘Return to Me’ that I won (thanks Sybil!) My husband quite liked it. 🙂
