Written by Sybil - September 11, 2007 at 1:10 pm

Book CoverI can't even begin to tell you how much I loved The Serpent Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt. Well I can and I do have more than a few posts talking about it. It is the type of book I want everyone to read! So I have good news, Grand Central Publishing sent us FIVE, count 'em, 5 copies to give away!!

You can read an excerpt here and another here. Elizabeth Hoyt talks about her hero, Simon Iddesleigh here. And you can find our reviews for all of her books at these links: The Serpent Prince, The Leopard Prince, and The Raven Prince.

So how do you enter the contest you ask? Comment on any of the posts in the paragraph above, or comment here and tell us your favorite Hoyt hero, heroine, book, cover art, scene, or line.  All comments submitted today, 9/11/07, thru midnight tomorrow (using comment time stamps), 9/12/07, are eligible.  Older comments will not be entered.

See how easy that is? One winner per household but you can enter as many times as you want.  Five winners will be chosen.

oo, contest! Well my favorite cover is the Serpent Prince one. I like the shadow play and the necklace and I'm very partial to blue.

  2. Kimmy on September 11th, 2007 2:32 pm

I loved the Raven Prince. A great book. I love reading her stuff.
    Great contest.

  3. Kerry on September 11th, 2007 2:35 pm

I agree, The Serpent Prince cover is my favourite too. I like the colours and the lines of it best. And the necklace is cool.

  4. Tracy on September 11th, 2007 2:42 pm

I just started THE RAVEN PRINCE~mostly b/c everyone here loves it so much. Then a friend of mine said that TRP is probably her favorite book EVER so I decided I better pick this book up!

    So far, EXCELLENT!! :D

Just started reading the Leopard Prince due to all the talk on the blogs about it. And if what I've read so far is any indication- this series is gonna rock my socks!

  6. Christy H. on September 11th, 2007 4:11 pm

I think the covers for all of Elizabeth's "Prince" books are just absolutely gorgeous!

  7. Cathy on September 11th, 2007 4:47 pm

I like the cover for The Raven Prince. Haven't had the pleasure of reading any of this series yet, but the good reviews have put all three on my wish list.

  8. Stacy S on September 11th, 2007 5:10 pm

All the covers look good. I never read anything by her though.

  9. Karen on September 11th, 2007 5:10 pm

ohhh... These are all on my wishlist. The covers are all lovely, but I think I like the Raven Prince best. It reminds me a little of a favorite painting of mine, "Flaming June".

OK - I'm going to flat out selfish and hope I win here *huge grin*. I was blown away by The Raven Prince. I loved it, just loved it. Then I read The Leopard Prince and loved it, almost but not quite, but it's still a real keeper. So - with two great books I was on the countdown until The Serpent Prince. But it's not here in Canada. I checked 5 cities in Ontario and there were about 8 copies in the whole province. I checked the East Coast. I checked the West Coast. I checked MB, AB SK and BC - nada! Nothing! And in theory, this book has been out since September 1.
As for favourite cover, I think, although I love the colour purple, I like the cover of The Raven Prince best since it shows more of the person and I'm not really a fan of just body part covers.

Besides the steamy scenes, which are at the top of my list, I liked the scene in The Raven Prince when Edward and Anna banter back and forth about him falling off the horse. Of course, he didn't fall. lol My favorite cover is the one on The Raven Prince, although, I think they are all nice.

Favorite book, The Leopard Prince, favorite hero, Harry, favorite line: "He might have loved her, his lady."

    sigh........

I did also adore Simon from his first appearance in TRP and am really looking forward to reading more about him.

  13. Joan B. on September 11th, 2007 7:46 pm

The Raven Prince is my favorite because it was my first Elizabeth Hoyt read. I really liked Anna, the heroine. Harry Pye from The Leopard Prince is also a favorite character. I am sure Simon will be a wonderful character too. I love what I've read in the excerpts. The covers are al wonderful!

  14. Pam P on September 11th, 2007 7:57 pm

Kristie, I'll match you for being selfish, lol. I like the cover of The Raven Prince best. Both TRP and LP are keepers, but I agree with Kristie, also, that I loved Edward (TRP) that bit more. From what Sybil tells me, though, it's likely to be Simon.

I have the ebook in a shopping cart right now as I think I have time to read later tonight and haven't had time to get to a local bookstore, but I would Love the print.

I picked up Raven Prince on the strength of some good recommendations over at AAR. I really enjoyed it and Hoyt became my favorite "new" author of the moment. LP was just as good and it was so refreshing to read a book in which the hero was not a member of the aristocracy. Loved that earthiness about Harry. Now with SP, I think Hoyt has outdone herself again. How can you not love the red high-heeled shoes??? *g* Overall, I think I have to say that my favorite hero is Simon. Maybe that's just because he's the most recent one I've read, but I adore a man with a quick wit. And I loved that he really fell hard for the heroine and proposed to her early on in the book.

Kristie(J), if I win, the copy is all yours. :)

  16. Megan on September 11th, 2007 8:11 pm

ooh, hard one! I loved both the books, but I liked the hero from Raven a whole, whole lot (do I remember his name? No, because my brain is a sieve).

I cannot WAIT to read this one, too!

  17. ames on September 11th, 2007 9:11 pm

I love the cover for the Serpent Prince because of the purple dress. It looks lush. :P

  18. Allison on September 11th, 2007 9:16 pm

I read Leopard Prince first, and remember being almost as drawn to the fairy tale as I was to Georgie and Harry's story. How romantic to have little wood figures whittled just for you! I loved how Georgie would rearrange his collection while she continued the tale. I enjoyed Raven Prince even more as it really had a romantic/relationship focus to the story. What a wonderful scene when Jock got his name! But both are keepers and I expect Serpent Prince to be the same. Can... not... wait!

  19. Cathie on September 11th, 2007 9:34 pm

I felt so much the same after I read RAVEN PRINCE. First I couldn't put it down for nothing! I just kept reading until I finished RAVEN PRINCE. I remember having to write to Elizabeth because I just had to let her know how much this book touched me emotionally and how moved I was with it. I have been so waiting for SERPENT PRINCE and from the feelings I heard, so much felt so good after the first one as they did this one! I do have book two to read, very soon! I'd love to be in the contest for SERPENT PRINCE!!

  20. Mona on September 11th, 2007 9:55 pm

I loved the Raven Prince cover. very romantic.

  21. Willa on September 12th, 2007 3:22 am

I loved the scene in The Raven Prince, right at the start, where Anna had nearly been mown down by Edward on his horse and as he rode off she muttered 'bastard'. :D And that hooked me in those first few pages. Really enjoy Ms Hoyt's humor in her books.

Would love to get my mitts on The Serpent Prince. Here in U.K. its perpetually on a 'due in 1-3 weeks' status at you know who!

  22. katiebabs on September 12th, 2007 5:59 am

Elizabeth Hoyt must be the current historical romance author to read! I wish her all the best and hopefully myself so I can win a copy. LOL

  23. Crystal B. on September 12th, 2007 7:26 am

I loved The Raven Prince. Edward de Raaf is a great hero.

  24. Cherie J on September 12th, 2007 11:25 am

My favortie cover out of the three is the one for The Raven Prince. I think the red is very sexy. I have The Raven Prince on my TBR pile now. I have been hearing so many great things abou this series of books thst I need to read it soon and add the other two books to my TBB list.

  25. Christine on September 12th, 2007 12:07 pm

The only Elizabeth Hoyt book I currently own is The Leopard Prince. I thought I also had The Raven Prince in my TBR pile but alas I do not. If I don't find The Raven Prince soon, I'll order it online. So I haven't read any of the series yet, but am looking forward to it. Not to mention that I've clicked on that Search Inside button on Amazon and have read as many passages of The Raven Prince as I could until Amazon sent me that warning that I can't see anymore and should buy the book! LOL Please tell me I'm not the only one who's done that??!?

I love all of the covers but think that The Serpent Prince draws my attention the most. The heroine's pose, her necklace, her dress, the way the hero is holding onto her, her expression.... very intriguing. And the title alone implies a dangerous sex appeal, don't you think?

  26. MaureenC on September 12th, 2007 12:29 pm

I enjoyed The Raven Prince and Mother Wren was quite the character. She played the part of the confused older woman but was really very sharp.

  27. Liz on September 12th, 2007 4:52 pm

So far, I've only read The Leopard Prince but I'm already in love with Hoyt's books. At the moment my fav hero is Harry, but I'm looking forward to reading the other two books and see if I will change my mind.
