What to do first? Unpack? READ? Update blog? Sleep? Do wash? Blog hop? Type up posts before I forget? Finish Shannon McKenna’s posts for her guest author day coming up on Wednesday, July 18th?
Lucky for me my BFF drove home most of the way and I got to sleep. Gwen has started to format posts for Shannon’s day. So I think I need to unpack to get the wash going so I have something to wear to work tomorrow.
A few RWAish musings:
Most heard statement – “This isn’t for the blog”
Jane is amazing
Deborah Cooke and Kresley Cole have lickable covers coming out
Wendy talks more than I do
Kristie really did find her inner ace reporter
I am finally learning to come out of my shell and stop being so shy
No one seems to think I look like a ‘sybil’
I look really bad in pictures and hate them but it just hit me I don’t think there is one with all four of us in it
The conference is a lot of work and I don’t know how writers manage to do it all since everything seems to be scheduled at the same time
I didn’t do at least 5 things I was suppose to but did get a chance to meet up with most of my guest authors for the rest of the year. Got some awesome one on one time with most of the authors I wanted too (of course who knows if anything is printable). Almost met up with all the publishing peeps I wanted too, oh and picked up a book or two.
So all in all the lack of sleep should turn out to be worth it.
You looked great in the pictures I saw. I loved all the conference coverage, thanks to all of you for going and reporting!
Yumm! “Lickable covers”! My favorite kind!!
By the way, two Shannon posts are ready for your eyeballs, whenever your eyeballs are rested enough to have a gander.
Welcome home!
You know – that just occurred to me when you mentioned it. There are no pictures of the four of us. What a bummer that is.
And it looks like you did what Wendy and I did. Sleep was calling but instead of heeding it – blogging won out *g*.
I blogged, then slept. I’m just wasted. I’m dying to blog about Broken by Megan Hart (I read it on the plane TO Dallas), but want to be awake enough for that so the post sounds coherent.
And I probably do talk too much. It’s just nice to meet other people who love romance novels as much as I do…..
I think you look just like a sybil.
I mean…. you say sweetness and light and then follow it with damn it
That’s gotta be two people speaking… right?
Welcome back!
I went straight to the zoo but when we got home the lovely DH let me crash for three hours. I am still in a stupor though. Kristie J was totally the ace reporter.
Charlene, I have already been pimping the book. LOL but feel free to go on π
Gwen I have books for you!
LOL we have to do what we have to do kristie ;).
I am surprised Kristie or Jane even got a word in between the two of us.
awwww shi I missed you too! heeeeee
I am still in awe of THE kristie. Hope you and the cutie enjoyed the zoo.
What a time, what a trip, what reports! It was fun reading about all the goings on. You all did good. Shy? Huh. Go figure.
Finished the Graves book. Still want a review?
‘Twas fantastical to meet you in person, Syb. I think you look like a Sybil – those other people must need new glasses. *snerk*
I’m back at the damn day job with a broken toe (long story), sore shoulders from my dinosaur laptop, but I’ve got my gigundo mug o’ java to get the ole blood pumpin’. Welcome back to cyberspace! π
Hi, Sybil. Just wanted to say that it was great meeting you, Jane, and Wendy at RWA. π
Not sure if I met Kristie or not — was she the woman with you and Jane at the Berkley party?
You didn’t seem shy at all. I’m envious of your long hair. Mine totally frizzed out.
LOL I was being a smartass… sorry… not really all that shy π
It was grand meeting you too Beth!
Berkley party… when? I know you walked up when we were talking to Renee Bernard but I thought you two knew each other. But now that I think about it she said she was going to find Skully when we went to get food. So I am thinking she meant she came with Jennifer Skully not Jennifer as in you. OOPS! I always think authors know each other! Hell it is always weird introducing authors to other authors cuz really who the hell am I.
Sorry! Renee is a trip and worth meeting if you run into her again ;).
I enjoy your blog and Jane’s at Dear Author, having recently found them.
Thanks for the past and future reports on the RWA meeting activities. The pictures looked great, and it sounds like everyone had a great time.
Hmmm, I notice there are no posts about how amazing sweet I am, or how fabulous it was to meet me… Did I just miss these posts, Sybil? Or do you have yet to compose them? π
Kathryn:
I just goes without saying how sweet and fabulous you are π My mission every time I attend RWA is to see if you’re there – then kick myself for the sheer number of your backlist titles I still have in my TBR.
Thanks Jess!
oh hon there is SO a post on you… *g* no worries kathryn my dear
heeeeeeee
