Scandal’s Daughter by Christine Wells
The Earl of Carleton’s sole commitment is to his hedonistic lifestyle until he makes a promise to a dying man. He must find his childhood friend a husband in three months or marry her himself. The daughter of a notorious femme fatale, Gemma Maitland has the body of a siren, a morbid aversion to matrimony and a knack for fixing people’s lives. He needs to marry her off before she starts fixing him, but when practical Gemma suddenly discovers her inner temptress, is Carleton man enough to resist?
I posted about this a million years ago and it was set to come out in November. But it has been moved up!!
So you can buy Christine Wells first book in Sept now! Aren’t you excited? No? Tough crowd… Did I mention it is historical? You can read an excerpt here and find her blog here.
Best of all you can try out her writing with her short stories, which are posted on her website.
Looks like a cute book and the exerpt peaked my interest! Got to love thos historicals where the hero is outdone by the heroine 🙂
I hit the word “Earl” in the blurb and my eyes glazed over. But I shouldered on and hit, “must find childhood friend a husband” and back came the glazed over eyes.
On the bright side – that sure is a purty cover. I could look at it all day. Which means I’ll probably end up with the book in my TBR even though the blurb has the same effect on me as a bottle of cheap wine…
I know I’m excited. . .:)
I think the cover is wonderful. Of course I like the blurb too *g*.
Liked the cover, liked the blurb. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Hopefully a new, good author to be excited about!
