If You Dare (MacCarrick Brothers Trilogy #1)
As we have been talking about long waits for series books… I didn’t realize Kresley Cole’s trilogy was being finished with a back to back release. Or I did and I forgot. Very smart on Pockets part I think.

Three Scottish brothers, cursed to walk with death, become what they were fated to be: dark warriors—a spy, a mercenary, and an assassin—without homes, families, or futures. Inhabiting a shadow realm on the periphery of society, these men are damned by their fates, their actions and, in some cases, by the very people they protect. They are fiercely possessive and will do whatever it takes to defend what’s theirs.

For those of you that doesn’t remember If You Dare was first released in April of 2005. I recall seeing a cover for If You Desire but can’t recall if a release date was given. The trilogy ended up being put on hold while Kresley worked on her paranormal series that exploded.
If You Desire (MacCarrick Brothers Trilogy #2)
I was annoyed and honestly in doubt if we would see the next two books, as we never saw the last book in her first series. So I was very happy when I heard last year it was being finished. If You Dare was reissued in March of this year at a great discounted price of $4.99. Well great for her new fans and people who hadn’t already bought it in 2005 (and not even read it yet… le sigh). If You Desire releases this month (ebook out now with Pocket early erelease) and I just noticed that If You Deceive has a release set for May. No ebook yet… did this get moved up?

It will be interesting to see how well this series ends up doing. Of course a big difference here is Kresley Cole has been publishing books and it is possible those new fans of her Immortal After Dark Series will cross over to buy her historical novels. As well as those fan of historical romance who are tired as all get out of everything paranormal may rush out to buy a historical trilogy. And there are many readers who missed the first release and had no clue about the long ass wait for the last two books.

If You Dare (MacCarrick Brothers Trilogy #1)
If You Dare

High in the Pyrenees, a band of mercenaries led by Courtland MacCarrick wages war for General Reynaldo Pascal. When Court turns on the general, Pascal orders him killed. Court narrowly escapes and exacts revenge by kidnapping Pascal’s exquisite Castilian fiancée.

Noble heiress Annalía Tristán Llorente despises her towering, barbaric captor almost as much as she does Pascal. Her inexplicable attraction to the Highlander only fuels her fury. Yet nothing will stop her from returning to Pascal—for if she doesn’t wed him, she signs her brother’s death warrant, as well as her own.

From the moment Court discovers that Anna’s prim façade masks a fiery, brave lass, his heart’s ensnared and he dares to defy the curse that has shadowed his life—to walk with death or walk alone. But Pascal vows that he’ll hunt the two, never stopping until he’s destroyed them both. If they survive, can there be love between a defiant beauty and a ruthless Highland mercenary?

If You Deceive (MacCarrick Brothers Trilogy #3)
If You Deceive

Burning vengeance . . .

Ethan MacCarrick was a heartbreakingly handsome rake until a powerful nobleman ordered him brutally beaten and his face scarred for a crime he didn’t commit. Ethan’s reprisal—bankrupting the nobleman and forcing his exile—does little to appease his wrath. Seven years later, a haughty, mysterious beauty enchants Ethan—the daughter of his enemy. At last, Ethan will have the revenge he’s craved; he’ll promise her marriage, seduce her, then cast her aside.

Bitter hardships . . .

When Madeleine Van Rowen’s family was suddenly plunged into destitution and dishonor, she steeled herself against further heartache. She never weakened, never trusted, until a towering, scarred Highlander relentlessly pursues her, breaking down her defenses.

At what price forgiveness?

The passion between them burns hotter than Ethan’s fury, and soon he finds he can’t let her go. But when Madeleine uncovers the truth about him, can Ethan convince her to accept all he now offers—when he once destroyed everything she had?

Why is it that after reading those excerpts I am really thinking of reading these. NOW! Le sigh, I swear I make plans only so I can then go about breaking them.
