Raintree: Inferno by Linda Howard
Two hundred years after the Raintree clan defeated and abandoned them on a small Caribbean Island, the Ansara wizards are rising again to take on their bitterest foes. Despite their extraordinary powers and supernatural origin, the Raintree have largely blended into the modern world. They are bankers, cops, husbands, wives and lovers in the society of humankind. But now, from Nevada to North Carolina, the rejoined battle will measure the endurance of their people. It will test their loyalties and relationships. And it will force upon them all new lives they could barely have imagined before.
To be followed in June by Raintree: Haunted by Linda Winstead Jones
and in July it will wrap up with Beverly Barton‘s Raintree: Sanctuary
I am interested to read this one. I have always loved her books. And her writing paranormal (which I love) is pretty cool. I hope that it is pulled off well.
Sounds great! I love the cover as well!
Thanks sooo much Sybil, I was dying for those cover + blurb!!! I even wrote the publisher, complaining about the no info online.(no reply)
People on Amazon.com were wondering too…mystery solved. Mèsi anpil! (thanks very much)
I was at a chat not long ago and heard it took 5 years to get this idea down to the books! So this will be interesting!
What is it about these covers lately? All I can think of when I see them is, “Gawd I’d love to lick that man like a lollipop!” I still salivate at The Nymph King’s cover. This one too!
Love me some man-candy!
LH doing paranormal? I wasn’t too crazy about her foray into chicklit. But who am I kidding, of course must have this one. Wow, the cover is marvelous too.
I ordered from eHarlequin hoping I get it before it hits the streets. Can’t wait!
You know – I was so annoyed last night!! I decided to order this one on-line. I spent about 45 minutes going through the site and picking out other books too so that I could get the free shipping. When I went to check out and pay for them – all the books had disappeared!! I KNOW I had them in my shopping basket!! As it was almost 1:00 am – I was just too tired to do it again.
OMG… that cover is hot shit. Awesome. I love Linda Howard. Will have to pick this up for sure. thanks, syb!
… though it kind of reminds me of the “tough-actin’ Tinactin” commercial.
Yup, will have to pick this one up too. It’ll be interesting how she handles the paranormal. I love the Nocturne line. **and no, not just because I write for them! :-)**
Oh, BTW Sybil, I love the new blog look.
Yes, sybil, the new blog is very sexy.
sssssssssssuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrreeeeeeeee vivi anna sure ;).
Hasn’t howard done a Paranormal before? Or I guess we don’t cound TT as paranormal.
Thanks, I like the look too *g*
Oh no. My reading of this is not going very well at all. . . 🙁
Why?
Uh oh.
But I will still have to get it 😀
My reading isn’t going well either. Oy. Glad I didn’t buy the paperback.
Unless this book gets dramatically better, I don’t think I’ll buy the other two books in the series.
Why? Well, the guy is a neanderthal that makes Justin from Claiming the Courtesan look like a beta male. There’s mental lusting that comes out of nowhere, particularly on the part of the heroine. There is such inequity of situation in this story not to mention the lack of explanation for the “magic.”
The magic is also very contrived. Whenever the hero needs a power, he has it. He’s controls the fire. He controls people through compulsion. He can make shields and charms. bla bla bla.
Not to mention that I am half way through the book and I am bored to tears.
