Erin McCarthy is one of my favorite romance authors. My expectations may have been too high, because Book 2 of the Seven Deadly Sins series unfortunately disappointed. I felt that the story didn’t truly begin until chapter 9. The story moved too slowly for me, and I felt that the action didn't begin until the nearly the end, and it became rushed. I also would have liked a bit more romance. Read more

Fallen is the second book in Erin McCarthy's darker paranormal series. It has a gorgeous cover, an intriguing premise revolving around unsolved murders, a tormented hero, and an unusual heroine. While there were certain elements that I enjoyed, these parts did not add up to a particularly strong whole.

This is the second in Erin McCarthy’s 7 Deadly Sins series, and now I’m going to have to go track down the first one, because “Fallen” was just that good. Gabriel St. James is a demon, cursed to drive women crazy with love for him. Sara Michaels is the woman he lets into his life. Throw in a murder mystery 5 generations old, a couple of Big Secrets, a few more demons and an absinthe addiction....
It might sound over the top, but I promise, it’s not.
