REVIEW: The Notorious Gabriel Diaz by Cathy Williams
LynneC’s review of The Notorious Gabriel Diaz by Cathy Williams
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Presents 19 Feb 13/Mills & Boon 5 Jul 13
This story started badly for me, with a jerk hero and a wimp heroine. However, things got more interesting when Gabriel grows a conscience. A shame Lucy never grew a backbone.
REVIEW: The Unintended Groom by Debra Ullrick
Dinca’s review of The Unintended Groom by Debra Ullrick
Historical Romance published by Steeple Hill 4 Jun 13
I enjoyed this story. It is delightful and entertaining with two little boys getting in on the action. The way they create a disaster out of words that pop out of the heroine’s mouth keeps the story rolling right along. No lulls between the pages with those scamps around.
REVIEW: Down and Out in Beverly Heels by Kathryn Leigh Scott
Liviania’s review of Down and Out in Beverly Heels by Kathryn Leigh Scott
Contemporary romance published by Montlake Romance 26 Mar 2013
I picked up Down and Out in Beverly Heels because it looked like a fun romance with a bit of madcap mystery a la Janet Evanovich. While I enjoyed the novel, it’s nothing like I expected. There’s much more mystery than romance. And don’t be fooled by the bright, flirty cover. Actress Meg Barnes isn’t just down and out – she’s living out of her car because her disappeared conman husband’s schemes left her destitute and mostly friendless. It is a much darker read than I was expecting. read more…
REVIEW: Rancher to the Rescue by Jennifer Faye
Wendy the Super Librarian‘s review of Rancher To The Rescue by Jennifer Faye
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Romance 01 Jul 13
I love reading debut authors, especially in category romance. Hey, you never know – you could be reading the first book by the next Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown, or Jayne Ann Krentz. So I really want to love every debut book that lands in my lap. But when I don’t? Yeah, it’s not only depressing but makes me feel like a Big Meanie. While Faye is a competent writer, and I had no problem getting through the pages, it is ultimately the unbelievable heroine and thinly drawn villain that sinks this story for me.
PONDERING: What a Difference a Year Can Make
A little more than a year ago, I shared with y’all the story of my Winter, my eighteen-year-old kitty who had, after fifteen and a half years with me, gotten sick, and eventually I had to make that awful decision pet owners hope will never happen. Thought I’d update you a little on the last year without Winter.

Women’s Fiction published by Viking Adult 3 Jul 13
Reading a book that is full of the dark and twisted isn’t the book to read while on vacation. Having fun with friends and seeing new and exciting places could be what kept me from being fully pulled into this story and engaging with the characters.
REVIEW: Tiger Magic by Jennifer Ashley
Ash’s review of Tiger Magic (Shifters Unbound Series, Book 5) by Jennifer Ashley
Paranormal Romance released by Berkley 04 Jun 13
I am sad to say I was a bit disappointed in this book. I really loved the previous one in the series, so I had high hopes.
REVIEW: Lady Myddleton’s Lover by Evangeline Holland
LynneC’s review of Lady Myddleton’s Lover by Evangeline Holland
Historical Romance published by Edwardian Parade 22 Aug 12
This book has a beautiful cover and I know Evangeline slightly, so I decided to download and read, even though I don’t particularly like the Edwardian era. However, a few issues kept me from totally enjoying the story.
