This is a hilarious tale of musical bedrooms. Poor Daphne, all she wants is marriage to a man she can love. She’s figured it all out and has the most perfect plan, but then disaster strikes. The man in bed with her is the wrong man, the very rakish Duke of Claymore. How will she fix this disaster of epic proportions?
Ashton is fast asleep when he’s awoken to a smoking seduction. He’s always loved Daphne, but his mystery seductress might actually replace her in his affections. It’s time to set up his nursery and the love of his life, Daphne, is out of his reach, so he might as well find out who this lovely lady is and engage.
Hoping against hope that Ashton didn’t recognize her, Daphne continues her campaign to win her fair love and tries to figure out ways she’s going to explain her game of musical bedrooms and consequences to her beloved. Though being his best friend’s sister-in-law has kept Daphne safe from Ashton, now that he’s had the cherry, so to speak, he’s determined to win her for his duchess. He mounts a skillful campaign to change him from Mr. Wrong to Mr. Right.
This is is a cute, entirely predictable novella that I thoroughly enjoyed as a light respite from a rough day.
