Master of the Highlands by Veronica Wolff
SHE’S BACK IN TIME…
Lily Hamlin has finally realized that her life isn’t as perfect as she once thought. Making a pilgrimage to Scotland, a land she’s only heard about in lullabies, Lily hopes that she can find her place again. But while exploring the Highlands, she discovers an overgrown maze and a strange stone map–and lands in the Lochaber of 1654…
…JUST IN TIME FOR HIM.
Ewen, Chief of the Clan Cameron, is a busy man who must figure out how to save his people from the brutal redcoats and has time for little else. Having sired an heir, the widowed Ewen has no need-or room-for another romance. Then into his life drops a saucy lass with a peculiar accent, no regard for his title–and an arousing body. Drawn to each other despite their differences, they both realize that they don’t want her to go back to her own time. But with battles brewing between the Camerons, the redcoats, and a rival clan, staying is a gamble.
If you have been wondering what Master of the Highlands is about you can follow the links to Veronica Wolff’s website. Woot! Go check it out but beware it has music when you first click on it. There is a mute button on the lower left hand side, if you return to the front page you will have to mute it again. I think it should be the other way around, you hit the page and choose to turn on the music but sadly no one asked me.
Other than that lil music thing, it is a great site. She did say there would be changes and updates made this week, as I have given her a hard time about not having a site at all, I figured I would tell you all about it now *g*.
Master of the Highlands will hit the shelves in Feb 2008. The follow up is Sword of the Highlands, which will arrive in stores July 2008. There are excerpts up for both books on her site.
There are so many time travel romances where the woman goes back in time to those sexy highlanders! *G*
Is this a new trend?
I love time travel especially in Scotland. This book appeals to me greatly! The cover is fantastic!
Lynn Kurland is my favorite time travel writer but I can’t wait to give Veronica’s book a try. I’m jotting this down on my TBR pile right now.
::drooling over the mantitty cover::
I’m sorry, Sybil. Did you say something?
You’re right Gwen, that is some nice man…. ummm yah…:)
That music on websites shouldn’t auto turn on. But you never went to the site did ya hon…
LOL knew you would like the cover *g*
Adding these to my wishlist! I am a fan of time travels! And yes, it is a drool-worthy cover.
Thanks — I hope you like it! And Sybil, you’ll be happy to know we’re tweaking the front page so it will remember if you’ve selected the mute button. See what power you wield?! 😉
Shhhhhh, Veronica! We keep telling her it’s not all about her.
Even though we know it is.
I love time travels and went right over to your site to join when I saw this and read more, Veronica. Love seeing that cover over and over this week when I glance through my Google Reader, lol.
Hi Pam! Thanks so much for registering! I hope you enjoy the site–I’ll be adding a lot more content in the coming weeks. 🙂
Dang it, I just finished Jo Barrett’s Highlander Challenged and loved it.
I hate Time Travel Romance because of some really bad reads but it looks like I will have to try some of these new ones.
