What is that you ask?

Comment in this thread with the answer, until midnight May 1st. A winner will be randomly picked from the people who guess correctly. You should sooo be able to figure out where the answer is…
To quote one of my all time favorite authors!:
“I knew I’d need to create a main necromancer character, but I struggled with it. When I think of someone who can commune with the dead, I think “dark and creepy,†which would make a great villain or interesting secondary character, but not necessarily a good main character in a series with a healthy dose of romance.
I hate creating characters simply to fill a void, so with my necromancer, I decided to take my time. Then I read a magazine article about a TV medium, and thought “What if my necromancer was someone like that?†Flamboyant and charismatic was a whole lot more appealing to me than dark and gloomy. And so, Jaime Vegas was born.”
Reading about a TV medium combined with her idea for a necromancer character.
“I read a magazine article about a TV medium, and thought “What if my necromancer was someone like that?†Flamboyant and charismatic was a whole lot more appealing to me than dark and gloomy. And so, Jaime Vegas was born.”

This is a really funny contest, Sybil, because everyone can see the answers in this thread. It makes it so much easier 😉 I’ll just paraphrase in my own goofy way.
So it’s like this, the goddess author Kelley (no, I’m not above sucking up but I’ve been fangirling her since Bitten was the only book out and I had to order Stolen from Canada so I could get it before the US release date). Anyhow, goddess author Kelley couldn’t add a necromancer to Stolen because, yo, there were already a crapload of characters in that book and really, one more female character would have been one too many at that point (because there were already a lot and everyone knows too much estrogen in one place can be deadly). So she shoved off the idea of creating a necromancer until she knew she’d totally need one because filler characters suck anyway. Then one day she’s reading a magazine article (wonder if it was her bathroom magazine?) and she had a lightbulb moment. What if she made her necromancer crazy wild instead of gloom and doom? And ta da! Welcome to the life and times of Jaime Vegas. We’re happy to have her 😉
How’d I do, Syb?
She got her inspiration from an article about a TV medium.
There, short and sweet.
The character of Jaime Vegas was created by Armstrong when she read an article about a TV medium and thought “What if my necromancer was someone like that?â€
She read an article about a tv medium.
Hmmm, seems like my answer didn’t appear… sorry if it appears twice then!
Kelley Armstrong created Jaime Vegas because she needed to explore this supernatural race that didn’t fit in Stolen, beause it was already packed. She used a magazine article about a tv medium as inspiration to create fambloyant and beautiful Jaime Vegas 😀
read a magazine article about a TV medium.
Reading a magazine article about a tv medium influenced her to create a necromancer character like that.
Sybil, why are you testing us like this? Don’t you know we all read every word you post on your blog? LOL.
She read a magazine article about a TV medium!!
To paraphase slightly:
Kelley knew that she needed a main necromancer character, but she thought someone who can commune with the dead would be “dark and creepy.â€
Finally while reading a magazine article about a TV medium, she thought “What if my necromancer was someone like that?†Flamboyant and charismatic was a whole lot more appealing to her than dark and gloomy. And so, Jaime Vegas was born.
I’m so glad that Jamie was created because she is one of my favorite Otherworld characters! I’ve been waiting for her story since she was introduced in Industrial Magic.
She was reading an article about a TV medium and had the “TaDA” moment about a “flamboyant” character instead of a dark & gloomy one.
I am *so* ready for something new by Kelley … she is one of my favorite authors!

Reading an article about a TV Medium and Kelly thought about the ‘what if my necromancer was something like that’, prompted Kelly to create the character of Jamie Vegas!
Magazine article she read about a TV Medium.
