So I get an e-mail from Sybil this morning with the loaded one line, “Can you do me a favor?” Oy! Talk about a loaded question! So I dipped my toe in the water (“Uh, suuuurrrreeeee….”) and found it was nothing more than posting a contest. And frankly, who better to ask about posting this contest other than the resident Harlequin Historical Undone ho here at The Pond?
Up for grabs? A coupon code to download a free copy of Michelle Willingham‘s latest short story, Innocent In The Harem, from Harlequin Historical Undone. Here’s the blurb:
Ottoman Empire, 1565
Prince Khadin knows his days are numbered. His death could come at any moment, but even he cannot help but be distracted by the Bedouin princess he sees making a daring bid for freedom from the slave market. Even in captivity, her courage and purity attract Khadin to her as much as her beauty. Unable to resist the temptation, he takes the maiden back to the palace harem—to be brought to him at night….
Ooooh, the Ottoman Empire! A Prince! A Princess! And looking at that description, there are sure to be oodles of sexy shenanigans.
We have to turn this contest around rather quickly, so for a chance to win the free download leave a comment on this blog post and tell me – what setting would you like to see more of in historical romances? A winner will be drawn on Friday, June 25.
See, I told you this would be a quickie….
ETA: This contest is now over, and the winner has been notified.
Hhhmmmmm….anywhere but America! The harem idea sounds great. I always love a highlander, but Ireland, France, Italy, Sicily, Greece, Australia…there are so many great places to set a romance!
Ha! Laughing, cause I’m totally opposite of Danielle. I’d love to see more American settings, including colonial, western, antebellum, reconstruction, and even WW1 & 2 (in any country).
I can never get enough of a good regency but I agree with Danielle, anything but American. Is that too terrible of me, being American and all?
You no American people. You’re going to make me and Lori cry – LOL
Scotland…it’s my favorite! I don’t mind if it’s set in America though (just for the record.)
I’d like to see more historicals in Ireland. Other countries around the world are fine with me, too.
I’d love to get my hands on this! I’d actually love to see more of this kind of setting — Ottoman Empire era Middle East and Ancient India. It’s a lot more fresh, vibrant and unique than the general spread.
I love American historicals of almost any period except the Civil War and would like to see more. The exotic east has an appeal too.
I am a sucker for books based out of Ireland & Scotland can’t get enough of them.
hmm… i love the usual Regency London but nothing beats setting the story in the Land of Faeries and Magic – Ireland! ^^
Egypt
I would love to see more American-set romances, any historical period. I’d also love to read historicals set outside England. Not that I dislike the English-set ones, but a little variety is always a good thing.
American Old West. Love it.
Wales! As a rule not many romances are set in Wales, and it’s a lovely country, so I would love to read books set there. Other than that naywhere in the world is fine by me as usually it’s the characters that draw me in rather than the setting 😀
I recently read a great pirate book based around the American Revolution. Sure would like to find some new ones.
Hey everybody! Using Random.org, I’m pleased to announce that Kelli C. is the winner! Kelli, I will be e-mailing me you the coupon code. Check your in-box and congrats!
Thank you! This is awesome 🙂
