That so brings a song to mind but I think I don’t even want to go there cuz, uh, nope… but the great and wonderful NATH has a game for us to play!
But first side note: when I have ever had issue with Samhain or EC their Customer service has been rock’n the only peeps who have sucked hardcore in ebook customer support (IMHO) has been KarenS friends NCP. Uh yeah, might wanna rethink sending in those books or you know don’t ::shrug::
Question 1: Where you bes?
Me: I am at work. No, really. Don’t tell.
Question 2: What bags are with you and what books do you have with you? I know squuee!
Me: I have two bags. In my purse – Western Wedding by Charlene Sands, Jillian Hart, Kate Bridges (Harlequin Historical), Once Upon a Pregnancy by Judy Duarte (SSE).
In a bag which I just noticed is the RWA bag they handed out last year (t carried my 3 ring binder of death and my “bible,” a.k.a. spiral with publishers, editors, contacts, dates of releases, author info, phone numbers, guest schedules and so forth and so on) of course BOOKs! Cuz you never know when a disaster could strike and you could need to READ a lot and uh have a min or 20 at ::coughworkcough:: of downtime.
::blink::
what?
I have with me in the RWA bag:
- Hokus Pokus by Fern Michaels (no not reading this but need to type up Connie’s review)
- FEARLESS BY DIANA PALMER (WOOT!)
- Baby, I’m Yours by Karen Templeton (like you didn’t know that)
- Dear Santa by Karen Templeton (see above need to type up reviews and I like to have the books with me, just in case, and STOP looking at me like that)
- Strong and Sexy by Jill Shalvis
- how i found the perfect dress by Maryrose Wood (think this is young adult which will make K happy)
- The Devil’s Footprints by Amanda Stevens (again NOT a sybil book… review to type)
so it isn’t THAT bad… did you see FEARLESS?
K your turn. What cha gots? Empty your pockets! Don’t make me go look in my car and list it out. We could be here all day!
Poor Sybil, nobody has come out to play yet! Well never fear, I am here:
Where I’m at: Still at work for another couple of hours. Blah.
What bags are with me and what books do I have with me? I only brought my purse with me today, no separate bag. I bought one book from home – Betting On Santa by Debra Salonen, an HSR from November.
But that’s boring compared to all the books Sybs has with her – so why don’t I mention the books I currently have piled on my work desk that I’ve done nothing with?
Pursuit by Elizabeth Jennings – this just showed up this afternoon.
I have a couple of Hard Case Crime books sitting here: Shooting Star/Spiderweb by Robert Bloch and Zero Cool by John Lange.
I have an ARC of Twisted by Andrea Kane and….
Give Me A Texan by Jodi Thomas, Dewanna Pace, Linda Broday & Phyllis Miranda that’s been sitting here since I bought the darn thing back in February.
I also have the May issue of RT. Yes, yes all you RT-haters out there, I subscribe. I can’t help it. I’m a plot description ho.
I have to do this, I’m sorry!
HAMMER TIME!
Okay, that was relatively painless.
I’m at home, it’s 11 pm and I’m in my dressing gown. I’ve just crammed another garment into my case for RT. Paranoid about running out of clothes. And earrings.
I have my bag with me. It’s awesome and I love it to bits. Huge, and I bought it in Monsoon’s sale (you do have a Monsoon where you are, don’t you?) It’s the black leather one with the bronze sequins encrusting the front and the mmmmmm bronze satin lining.
I have my ebookwise. I have lots ‘n’ lots on it, but I have a pile of print books, too. I just finished Lara Adrian’s latest, “Midnight Rising” which I loved. I do love the fact that not all her vamps are the same cloned alpha and her heroines actually have characters and they’re interesting.
I’ve been on an Elizabeth Lowell jag. Yes I know her heroes are sometimes jerks and her heroines wimps, but I can’t help it, I love her books. That woman can really write. I just re-read one of my perennial favourites, “Tell Me No Lies” which is still as awesome as ever (I mentally block out all the references to the hero’s moustache – not a moustache girl myself).
And I love RT. I’m just sorry I can’t get it easily this side of the pond.
I have only one book in my adorable LeSportsac bag that I got from Filene’s Basement for 13.50 (down from 56.00! Love a good bargain!) And it’s The Lost Duke of Wyndham by Julia Quinn.
Should be ready to fly away soon…
sorry lynne it is more like
It’s good, but I’m sticking with Hammer.
yep, he’s a freak!
LOLOLOL no that was just the song that was playing through my head when the line hit. I am odd like that there is almost music playing in my head. It helps keep out the voices *g*
Um – I did. Feel free to accidentally drop Fearless in the mail with me as the addressee once you’re done. 😀
I don’t know if I shared here, but I discovered DP a little over a year ago, and thought “oh, a new author – I’ll read her backlist for my book challenge blog.” I then checked her back list and about passed out. I did well though – in less than a year I read like all but 12. Unfortunately, the elite few are not to be found.
limecello!!!!!!!!
do tell what cha missing?
OK, so I’ll play. I’m at home, catching up on teh blogs and thinking about a nap.
Bags… I have my school bag, which contains lots of miscellanious paper and equally random bits of trash. I have the case for my PDA, which, given it’s a product for the blind, is just a hare smaller than a laptop case. Since the PDA goes with me everywhere, that’s where I stash my credit card, my IDs, etc. And I have a cute little purse that I got at a craft fair recently. I don’t really keep anything in it, but it’s nice to take with me when I’m going somewhere and I don’t want to lug around either of the other bags.
Since all my reading is done via my electronic gadgets, I have an ungodly amount of books on all of them. In fact, I’ve nearly filled up a 256 meg compact flash card with ebooks. Sadly, only some of them are review books… The rest I’ll get to eventually.
Right now I’m reading Tabitha King (wife of Stephen) and Michael McDowell’s book, Candles Burning. It’s a nice creepy Southern Gothic story, and it’s the closest thing to heavy reading I intend to put myself through during this semester. Next up will be some ebooks from Lynne Connolly (Hi, I see you upthread), Rayne Weaver and… Oh hell… I’m too lazy to look at my reviewing notes to figure out what else I’ve got to read next. 😀
#1 – sitting on the sofa, watching “House,” reading a book, and catching on the blog happenings. Can you say, “Multitask”?
#2 – My purse. Damien by Jacquelyn Frank. Interesting book but typical Frank madness – she sure likes words. Uses too many of them, though.
I finished house sitting today for my parents. I took a rather large bag with me, just in case, which I haven’t yet unpacked.
In the bag are:
The Duke of Shadows by Meredith Duran
Shadows of the Night by Lydia Joyce
Sex, Straight Up by Kathleen O’Reilly
Demon’s Fire by Emma Holly
Private Arrangements by Sherry Thomas(just finished, and enjoyed it-mostly)
My Sony Ebook Reader with the following tbr books:
Dead Girls are Easy by Terri Garey
Familiar Stranger by Michele Hauf and
If His Kiss is Wicked by Jo Goodman
The sad thing is, I was only house sitting for three days. I guess I was being just a little too optimistic.
omg is that what you call being forced to stay at your ‘rents and watch their ‘dogs’ in case they discover they are DOGS and you know behave like DOGS.
I took oh 1,2,3,4… yep 4! boxes of books with me when I went over for a weekend *g*
I planned to logged them in. ::giggle:: it sooooooooo didn’t happen. I swear I am not well and this should worry me more.
Raine…
yes TGTBTU misspelling TEH romance since 2004 (or something)
Oops. Well, I remembered the E at the end. And I had a 50/50 chance to get tat third letter correct. Am I thinking of another author who spells her name Rayne? Anyway, Ms. Weaver, if you’re reading this, I am sure you are a fabulous person and I apologize sincerely for not spelling your name correctly.
Bags? hmmm… well the only “official” tote I use is my Ellora’s Cave tote that was swag at RT 2006 (actually I scored several totes there that hold parts of my TBR mountain range). I carry that to the gym with me and the anthology Dates from Hell is in it. I only read it when I’m on the exercise bike at the gym. It was published in March of 2006. ‘Nuff said? hee
I usually keep an anthology in the Mom-mobile so if I’m waiting for various kids to get out of practices or at a doctor or orthodontist appointment, I’m never without something to read. Right now, my “Car Book” is the anthology My Big Fat Supernatural Honeymoon.
More bags—- Borders bags with my most recent purchases. They’ll stay in there until I add them to my TBR mountain range.
And the bags under my eyes hold the wisdom of my years. ;-p
