So what books are you taking with you? I can’t make up my mind if I am going to be ‘gone’ (as in 45 mins out in the sticks but you MUST spend the night for my 13 yo self has spoken) for two days or three.
How many books should I take? What if I forget one I NEED? How many books are too many? Is there such a thing?
I know a Nora is going… but Blood Brothers? Naked in Death? oh fine we will take both…
Beyond the Dark by Knight, Leigh, Holly and Whiteside
I have started The Angel and The Outlaw by Kathryn Albright, Naughty by Nature by Barbara Pierce, Lord of the Mist by Paula Quinn, Extreme Danger by Shannon McKenna and Compromised by Kate Noble.
And there were at least 10 others I wanted to read, you know, now. le sigh… so what to take…
Make me feel better, how many are you taking? If you are just going somewhere for the day do you just take ::le gasp:: one?
“Extreme Danger by Shannon McKenna”
me bitter, editor was supposed to send last week. didn’t happen. now Jami stuck reading “Eat Pray Love,” and talking like cave woman.
That is something I really should be considering right now instead of sitting here on the computer. Most of the next few days I’ll be in workshops, but we do have some downtime. I’m driving so I won’t be able to read in the car (well I could, but I don’t think my other passenger would feel safe if I was reading and driving). UGH—-DECISIONS!!!!!!
Lucky for me, I’m not going anywhere. I’m doing all the cooking at my house, so I don’t have to deal with scary things like this.
BUT! I’d say at least 7..or 10..or, well, I’d just load my eReader up with a good 100 and call it a day.
And really, 45 minutes isn’t such a bad drive if you forget THE ONE, right?
I’m going about 45 minutes away, too, to my sister’s, and yes it would be a pain if I forgot The ONe,- 45 going and 45 back, don’t forget; and that extra piece of pie I wanted might disappear before I got back, lol. That’s why I love having a handheld now, can take a whole load of books just in case, like if I got snowed in (which did happen one year in a real bad storm).
Happy Turkey Day!
LOL…you sound like me. I am just going about 45 minutes away and will be gone one night…maybe two…and I am trying to decide what to take. Even though my family probably won’t let me read, there is always that glimmer of a possibility. I would hate to get bored and not have something to read. I need a handheld ebook reader so I could just take it with lots of choices, but I don’t have one so I will probably take 2 or 3 books…or more…maybe one from each subgenre of romance…because I don’t know what mood I’ll be in when/if I get a chance to read.
If I was traveling I would take Creation in Death by JD Robb.
I just finished Naughty by Nature and it is the perfect book to take also! Very sexy and a bit naughty *G*
Throw in the Shannon Mckenna one just in case.
Wow ~ sounds like we’re from the same family. A short 45 minutes drive, but I have to stay overnight at least 2 or 3 nights until Mom goes back to work. I enjoy it while I’m there, but I dread it before I go.
This year, Thanksgiving is at my sister’s but I’ll still take a bag of between 5-7 books just because I never know what I’ll be in the mood to read (although I’m obsessed with The Raven Prince right now).
Well, since I’m stuck with audio and my folks frown on me sitting in a corner with headphones on, I probably won’t take anything. But I’ve got I think six books left on my commute reading CD, and my little MP3 CD player might still end up snuck in my bag just in case I also am forced to stay the night.
5 to 7…
I am soooooooooo not admitting how many books I have with me.
I’ll take one paperback and the 40 or more I have on my creative zen audio player…you just never know! LOL
Thanksgiving=5 books, right? One for each day flying/driving. One for nights. One to give to your sister. One just in case.
I’m home. I’m cooking. One of the benefits is having hundreds of books around if I get a chance to plop down at any point today.
