Connie’s review of Suspect (Raven Trilogy Book 2) by Jasmine Cresswell
Romantic suspense published 1 Oct 07 by Mira
Suspect is the second novel in Jasmine Cresswell’s new Raven trilogy. Here we focus on Liam Raven, the only son of Ron Raven. The resently disappeared loving husband and father of not one but two families.
Book blurb:
For twenty-five years multimillionaire businessman Ron Raven played the loving husband and father— to two very different households. But when Ron disappears, his deception is revealed. Faced with the ultimate betrayal, both families are left questioning who can be trusted—and who remains SUSPECT.
Cynical attorney Liam Raven hid his father’s bigamy—until it was too late. Ironically, Liam specializes in divorce cases. But when Chloe Hamilton is charged with murdering her husband, a popular Denver mayor, he makes an exception.
Liam’s relationship with Chloe quickly surpasses client and attorney. Her former husband had many secrets—including a connection to Ron Raven’s other family. And acquitting Chloe means uncovering a string of lies and treachery that leads back to Liam’s father.
Read an excerpt.
Yes. Dear Ron was a bigamist and all around bad guy. I didn’t like him and that very likely effected my feelings toward Liam. Liam knew about his father and he goes from girl to girl with no intentions of settling down until he finds out about the daughter he never knew he fathered. Why he was surprised he fathered a child, I’m not certain.
Liam of course falls quickly for the heroine, Chloe. But, again, why I’m not sure.
The book was an okay read but not much more than that. I intensely disliked Liam, and never really got over it.
Even with all that, I am very interested in seeing how Payback turns out.
