Updated: That is the second awesome cover I have seen today. Is it just me or are the covers coming in 2008 looking really, really fab?

Set to be a trilogy
From her website:
In the Spring of 2008 Bantam will begin publication of a new series, set in the Regency. The brothers and sisters of the Duke of Meryon find happiness in spite of hardship, loss, and heartbreak…
In Traitor’s Kiss, the first in the three book series, Charlotte Parnell meets Lord Gabriel Pennistan, the Duke’s youngest brother, in a France facing Napoleon’s failed effort to take over the world. Surrounded by lies and deceit the two must overcome their own failures and learn to trust their judgment before they can trust each other.
From Bantam:
TRAITOR’S KISS by Mary Blayney / March 2008
In the tradition of Amanda Quick, a thrilling voice in historical romance makes her Bantam Dell debut in this Napoleonic tale of love, trust, intrigue, and adventure. In TRAITOR’S KISS, Rhys Braedon has been condemned a traitor to England… Charlotte Parnell is as secretive as she is beautiful. When she shows up disguised as a nun in Rhys’ prison cell, what looked like a bleak future is all of a sudden filled with a newfound sense of hope and purpose. Rhys doesn’t know why Charlotte orchestrates his grand escape from the French prison, but he aims to find out. But things are not all that they seem. Charlotte is not who she says but how many masks does she wear? And she soon finds herself involved in a mystery of her own when she realizes that Rhys isn’t a traitor at all, but a man of science devoted to his craft. Will these two be able to let go of their secrets and pasts long enough to realize that the truth is in front of them and it just may complete their quests to find true happiness? Mary writes fast paced and suspenseful Regency romances that are sure to delight the fans of Julia Quinn and Victoria Alexander. Mary Blayney is the author of several Regency romances from Zebra and Silhouette. This is the first in Bantam Dell’s 3-book commitment to Mary. She lives in Maryland.
Looks like she has some older novels with Zebra. Anyone read her before? What cha think?
I have to say first Mary’s a really good pal. But I like her work very much, regardless of the paldom.
I don’t know about her writing, but that certainly is a yummy cover. Let’s hope that it augurs well for the upcoming cover trends. 🙂
This is a book I’ll buy because of the cover, and I’m not a big historical romance reader. Fabulous cover. Good copy. I’m in.
I had to stop and look because of the cover, but also because I was like: where I have seen that picture before? (The couple was on the first version of Jacquelyn Frank’s JACOB.)
And this one had me at “man of science”. I love that in historical novels.
I agree this is a beautiful cover. Very sexy, very classy.
I love covers that show duality–the romance and the setting, or some other hint of the story as well as the, uh, romantic bonding. (Although this bonding looks damn fine!) The blurb makes the storyline look fascinating. I’m in for this one
That is a very nice cover. Don’t know why I’ve never read her before being a fan of historicals and regencies. I like this and will have to get it when it comes out.
Very classy and hot at the same time! But the heroine goes into the jail as a nun? Hmm… I wonder how nun like she will be?
“man of science” so he is like the regency male Scully! woot!
EC than your newest book is perfectly titled in every way 😉
me neither pam… but I haven’t read many trad regency’s which I think is what a lot of her back list is…
This looks good! Added to my list!
