The Angel And The Outlaw by Kathryn Albright
A man takes care of his own. Stuart Taylor believes it, but now he’s on the run from a murder with 6 yr old Hannah in tow.
Rachel Houston is skeptical of the rumors that surround the light keeper – and fascinated too. When she is hired to tutor his daughter, the last thing she wants is to care about the taciturn man.
When the sheriff shows up and hauls Stuart to jail, they learn they must overcome the past if they are ever to grab hold of a future together.
I think that summary goes with this title. Looks like it from her site. And looks like she is an author to watch as she sez:
My stories are set in North America in the 1800s. It may be a fledgling town on the coast or a cattle ranch in the Rockies or a dusty hacienda in Texas, but the difficult times and unforgiving landscape produced strong, determined individuals and colorful characters that persevered in the face of great odds. It also produced the opposite–the outlaws who snubbed society’s rules and took what they wanted.
Wonder how many books Harlequin has purchased or if they just picked up one so far… She really needs to update her site. And get an excerpt up and such.
It is a beautiful cover and I rarely see books with a light house theme. (One I remember reading in historical was Susan Wiggs, I believe its called THE LIGHTHOUSE KEEPER.
I went to this authors site and too, it needs to be updated. I didn’t even find a ‘book’ page. The cover on the homepage has a red x in it so it wasn’t working.
I may email her and ask for some info.
