I thought it would be fun to ask a few authors, editors, publicists, and the like THE question and then post the answers:
What are you doing?
Why do I ask? Well there is a nifty new ‘social project’ type website (think MySpace but much much smaller and not blinky) called Twitter. And it gave me the idea to ask. You see, they ask people all over the world one question and only one:
What are you doing?
[Note: we are not connected in any way to Twitter. I am just a silly duckie. We do have a Twitter site that is updated every time we post at this blog and that displays on the public timeline .]

I just got home from a trip to Tacoma (a three hour drive and a two hour ferry ride) where I had lunch with a readers’ group, forty or so terrific women, who’ve been meeting once a month for over thirteen years, and we had a fabulous time, and if that’s a run on sentence it’s because I’m too tired to punctuate . . . π
Author Sherry Thomas
I just finished a majorly hot love scene in Delicious. So now my characters are going to chat about buttsecks–hehe, not. While I try to figure out the content of the earthshaking conversation they are going to have–oh, yeah, I see, it has to be in his point of view–I’m going to eat meat buns and porridge for breakfast.

I am taking a bit of a break from the richness that is If His Kiss is Wicked and trying to think what to read next, Fairyville, Caressed by Ice or try a new-to-me author.
Reading Fairyville by Emma Holly and wishing it wasn’t a paranormal. Hot sex and gay lovin’ though π
Reading this instead of working. And wishing I had time to run out and buy Emma Holly’s Fairyville.
I’m obviously not doing what I’m supposed to be doing! Gah!
As soon as I’m done here I’m going to go back to writing my magnum opus, DELICIOUS, which will be so good you’ll be coming to kick me en masse for not having finished it earlier because I’m always surfing on these internets.

I’m writing a proposal for a duet to pitch to my editor in 2 weeks, and getting ready for the launch of my newest Romance which happens this coming Tuesday.
Wendy! You should call them and ask. Really great book and no shame involved in wanting romance novels!
Nora, how many rooms you gonna have? You know I have over 8 years in hospitality. Need a FOM *g*.
5? Why the hell do I only have through 2? I R Abused!
Good Luck Marissa!
LOL oh how funny Donna… I was just looking for a review I have had for you forever because I noticed the book was in print.
And poof there you are π
Because I am obsessively anal and like to write ahead … waaay ahead. π
I’m finished setting up my new computer–the old one went belly-up two weeks ago– and I hope it won’t take too long because I’m going to start work on my next book bright and early Monday morning. Well, maybe not bright and early but you know what I mean.
Did I really say “I’m finished setting up my new computer…?” My only excuse is that it’s been a very long week!
I’m working on the partial of my next Modern Heat (that’s the new name for Modern Extra it seems)…this one is in Hawaii with a hunky firefighter and a lawyer heroine I almost kill in chapter one. Tis ok…hero plays, well, hero!
I’m sitting here trying to figure out what I think about the word twitter…oh, and finishing up a book that’s due on Sept. 15th.
Finally figured out the first sentence of my new book. It’s only taken four weeks. Fortunately some of the other sentences weren’t so hard to come by!
LOL HelenKay! I thought about naming the post twitterpated but gwen who has the kid didn’t know what it meant so I didn’t…
I’m calling 911 because I swear my heart stopped when I read Nora’s comment about a new In Death. We all know I named my Roomba Roarke, right? Slight obsession much?
But really I’m editing A Chance to Dream by Lynne Connolly and feeling guilty about not cooking dinner even if it is my anniversary.
I’m doing edits on Witch Blood, writing feverishly on The Darkest Kiss because I have a deadline looming, reading an ARC of Armed & Magical, by Lisa Shearin, (neener, neener, neener!), and allowing myself to be diverted by all of the above by replying to this post.
Your blog has strange and mystical powers, Sybil. But I can resist! I am now slipping back into deadline hell….
Eh you shouldn’t have to cook on your anniversary. You should edit books I want.
Anya, I am told that all the time π
lol, I like how you’re not worried about me working on my anniversary, though π
What can we say… I am a giver π
Angie – So you have Roarke suck things clean for you, do you?
*giggle*
I am contemplating with great pleasure the results of my trip to the bookstore this afternoon. Hahahahahahahahaha–I wanted them, and now they are MINE!
Not much writing this weekend for me…
Also trying to decide if a martini and a bowl of popcorn counts as a balanced dinner.
I am looking for a new agent, revising my mom-lit, getting ready to finish my historical, and waiting to hear if a proposal is accepted by an editor.
Caroline – you have your green veggie, the olive, and some fiber, the popcorn. Sounds balanced to me! Especially if you hold one in each hand!
