The paranormal isn’t a new thing to hit the airwaves. We were watching Dark Shadows on daytime and again years later at night, turned the lights off to watch Scully say “Mulder, it’s me”, were charmed by some witches, tuned in to see if a robot could keep a young Will out of danger and were staked by a cheerleader vampire slayer in love with a spike. The Paranormal is as old as time but everything that is old is new again.
As the ever so delightful gwen was kind enough to point out some of the ways the telly will be looking for the truth this fall, I figured what a perfect post to use for a contest.
Post your comment in this thread by Sunday August 29, 2007 midnight CST and you will be entered to win all four (unsigned) Immortal novels – The Calling, The Darkening, The Awakening and The Gathering.
Tell us what show or shows you are most looking forward to this fall. Or tell us the ones that wouldn’t make your must see anything. You can even tell us what paranormal pair that has exited the airwaves you miss the most. See how easy we are? Hell you can even tell me the name of the episode the title comes from *g*.
The winner will be announced on Monday August 30th. Big thanks to Dorchester for donating the prize.
I am looking forward to Moonlight, New Amsterdam,Supernatural, all the CIS series and NCIS.
I really miss Buffy and Angel. Both those shows got me reading paranormal in a way.
I’m looking forward to the new season of Blood ties. Totally love Supernatural(love those brothers) AHH.
I believe the title came from the X-Files pilot.
I really miss Buffy and Spike. I loved those two.
Looking forward to all the paranormal offerings: Supernatural, Blood Ties, New Amsterdam, Moonlight and Pushing Daisies. I am really going to miss the Dresden Files.
I’m looking forward to Pushing Daisies (from the Wonderfalls people, if anyone remembers that show), Journeyman and Moonlight – and the return of Heroes (and Lost, a thousand years from now). I’m glad the paranormals are coming back to TV…I just hope they give the shows a chance to grow an audience.
blood ties, heroes, and the new one based on Charlane harris sookie books. Can’t remember the name but it is coming soon I hope.
Old show I’ll keep watching – NCIS. New shows I’ll watch to give a try are Viva Laughlin, New Amsterdam (most looking forward to this one), Pushing Daisies and The Bionic Woman.
Pushing Daisies sounds interesting. I loved Kevin McKidd in Rome, will probably check out Journeyman just for that.
The CW is dead to me for cancelling Veronica Mars. But it is also the home of the best show ever, ANTM, so I can’t boycott, otherwise I wouldn’t get my fix of Tyra and vapid (and unintentionally hilarious) 20 y.o. girls.
OK, I’m lame. I cut and pasted my post from the other thread. I’m glad it seems like there’s going to be stuff besides reality tv.
I’m hoping one of these shows can fulfill my cult tv obsession. Now that Veronica Mars is gone, it’s pretty much The Office, ANTM and Project Runway (please come back!) for must-see tv for me. Sad. Oh, and Ghost Hunters.
Buffy and Spike 4eva!
I only caught a few episodes of Heroes but got hooked and am really looking forward to the new season.
Really miss Buffy and Angel as two series that I really loved, am torn on whether I liked Buffy and Spike more as a couple than Buffy and Angel.
For new shows, I’m looking forward to Journeyman (always like anything to do with time travel), New Amsterdam and Moonlight. Hope they give the new shows enough of a chance to get a following, too.
I kind of liked Blood Ties, glad to see it finally got picked up again – maybe it will do better on the new nigt. I was even sort of liking Harry Dresden, too bad it’s out.
I’m still into Lost, don’t even mind waiting until February, better than seeing one or two new episodes followed by a lot of repeats. Another returning show I really like is The 4400, another show to do with time.
I won’t mind watching Blood Ties again. While it wasn’t one of my favorite shows this past season, it wasn’t bad.
However, I am eagerly awaiting the return of Prison Break. I know it’s not supernatural but its super good lol. Prison Break, One Tree Hill and October Road are the only shows that I know I’ll be watching each and every week. Can’t Wait!!
I’m looking forward to PUSHING DAISIES, MOONLIGHT and REAPER
I miss Spike and Angel, they are really adorable working with or against each other. I also liked Lost it came under the paranormal category and was very interesting.
Looking forward to Pushing Daisies and Moonlight.
For the new shows, I think I’ll at least watch the first couple of episodes of the paranormals/TT coming out : Journeyman, The Bionic Woman (though that would be SciFi? or not?) Pushing Daisies, Moonlight and New Amsterdam.
Otherwise, I’m still a CSI and Law and Order girl at heart. Though Blood Ties was nice. I don’t know, I need some funny in my life and I don’t see which sitcom was memorably so. I guess I’ll just watch George Lopez with my mother. What else? I think HBO has one or two new things, though I’ll miss Big Love, it’s really growing on me.
Dresden Files and Veronica Mars are cancelled??? Argh!! Grumble, snarl, snark. I haven’t even finished the first season of Dresdon. Oh well–Netflix. I don’t have time to watch TV when it’s really on anyway.
I’m looking forward to seeing that new vampire show, plus Charlaine Harris’s series.
I’m not in the contest, just blathering. 🙂
Can anyone tell I miss the X-Files? LOLOLOL no jennifer you can’t win *g* but you are welcome to send me highlanders
just saying…
Oh.. I am a BIG fan of X-Files, Angel, Buffy, Dark Angel, The Pretender.. I STILL haven’t seen the season finale of X-File or Angel though, don’t have the courage. I taped the ep when it was aired and hasn’t seen it.
Right now, I’m looking forward to Heroes, Bionic Woman, Journeyman, and anything Harry Potter 😀
I miss Buffy (when it was good- let’s ignore most of the last 3 seasons) and I’m loving my Firefly DVD’s.
Since my classic high school favorite was Highlander, I’d say I’m looking forward to New Amsterdam. I’m also morbidly curious about The Reaper.
I can’t wait for Heros to re-start. I am sure that Nathan and Peter are alive, of course. I used to love watching Dark Shadows and Charmed. I loved the characters Piper and Leo when they were together is the early season. I definately love that paranormal shows are coming back to tv.
Ummm. Might be hard to believe, but I don’t think I’ve ever followed a single TV show in all my life. Not even in my language, so even less American shows in English. Actually I don’t watch much Tv at all. Sometimes I hear about an interesting program, I write down the date and time in my day planner, and systematically, every single time, I forget to watch it. I guess it’s a lost cause. Of the few shows I know of, I was kind of curious about The Dresden Files because I found the books not long ago and adored them. But I read that the show wasn’t coming back for a second season. Crap. Maybe I can find a video club somewhere that will have the first season on DVD.
In case anyone has missed it I am an X-Files nut. Which is where the title of the post comes from. As well as the bold quotes in the HEA thread… of course I am pretty sure I linked those.
Okay tomorrow is like a serious catch up day cuz I have four Mallery winner to announce, this contest, and three books of LMR.
