Tain’s book aka the fifth of the series aka what I thought was to be the last book now has a NAME and a to be published date.
WooT! What is it you ask?
Immortals: The Redeeming
It will be written by the ever talented and multitasking Jennifer Ashley and is set to hit bookshelves in September of 2008.
::blink:: hella long wait between books there… lucky for us there are a few books coming to keep us busy. Of course, at the same time I do wonder what is up with the long wait we keep seeing between series books.
The good news is Joy Nash will quickly follow The Redeeming with another Immortal book in October.
Immortals: The Crossing
And Robin Popp has a currently untitled Immortal book that should hit in November 2008.
NO idea who those books are about… they should tell us.
But wait that is not all! They will wrap it up with an anthology! As of right now it is untitled and has no to be published date. Of course this is all recent happenings and pretty far out in time so things could change. One never knows…
whoohoo lots of great books coming out and I agreet the wait seems to be getting longer and longer between books in series. Well at least it seems like it anyhow

I can answer that–although it’s going to be different cases for different series, of course.
First it’s how fast the authors can write. LOL Even though I can write a solid book in 2-3 months, I was contracted already for a bunch of stuff before Immortals came along, and I’m still working off prior commitments. Since turning in the Gathering early this year, I’ve written two novels and a novella under contract (with EC and Dorchester). Now I’m writing Tain plus another erotic novel and novella for Berkley (an anthology with Robin Schone that I’m very excited about–this is under my Allyson James name).
Also, publishers are cautious about scheduling too many books in a series right away. They want to wait to see how successful the first few books are. No sense in buying more books that might tank for a series that is seriously tanking. Of course by the time you see a series is successful, it will be a year until the publication of the next book (even if it’s written, it’s 9-18 months for the publishing process).
But I’m happy that we’re good to go! The series is doing well. There won’t be as much wait between Robin’s book and the anthology, which is scheduled for around Feb. 2009 (not official yet, but likely).
I am so glad tain will be redeemed. In which book do we learn what happened to him and how he was lost.
You said pretty much what I thought Jennifer, my first thought was how fast can the author write, lol.
Glad to hear there are more, and at least they will come out close together next year.
Squeee! More Immortals!
LOL Charlene!
Excellent I have totally enjoyed this series to date and look forward to more in the future. Just finished the Joy Nash one and it was a great read and continued the story well. Can’t wait for the next one.
Cool glad to hear there are going to be more Immortal books!
We’re out of posts here, but I just wanted to say THANKS to Sybil for letting me and Joy and Robin come chat on the blog. Thanks everyone for stopping by and happy reading!!!
Jennifer
LOL and just as you post the second to last goes up *g*.
Thank you for all the great posts!
