The Gathering (Immortals, Book 4) by Jennifer Ashley
Leda finds Hunter sprawled in an enclosure with her injured lion, and to her amazement, the lion seems to like him.
Hunter is ready to forget the world and his pain and lose himself on this tropical island with the beautiful Leda, but a request from an unusual person makes him realize he must return to the world to help. He takes Leda, the most powerful witch he’s ever met, and the lion with him.
They find the world run amok with Death Magic, and that Tain and his demon are planning a final take-over at the full of the moon.
Hunter and Leda race to join the other Immortals, but discover that the four Immortals and their witches have gathered too late . . .
Chapter One
Hunter always hated to wake up. This time it was from a sound sleep, made sweeter by the presence of two females, one on each side of him, the three forming a warm nest on a Minnesota April night.
What…?
Pain jerked him like clamps trying to tear him apart. Hunter sat up, naked and sweating, ready to blast whatever it was with his magic. But the bedroom was dark and quiet; no sign of any intruder, no sense of one. He doubled over and clutched his chest, struggling for breath. And just as suddenly as it had come upon him, the searing agony disappeared.
What the hell?
Wow! This sounds awesome. I can’t believe how great these covers are for this series. I love the effort made to reflect elements in the stories like the use of the lion on this one.
Great excerpt. I can’t wait to read it.
Hi Jennifer. Last time you visited here, you mentioned you might keep up with the series after Tain’s story in 2008. Any more thoughts on that?
