I want five of your favorite Harlequin Historical novels. Yes at least 5! I want at least the title and the author but really you should tell us WHY they are among your faves.
Why do I want this you ask? Well because I can? Because tis fun? Because Harlequin is being oh so kind and sending me 8 HH and I am gonna have to decide how to give them out.
This is hard stuff that requires thought you know. One big prize winner for all 8? Two winners for four? Eight winners? What to do…
So if I must think, so must you. And cuz who knows, you may rec something I don’t know I need to find. That would rock.
I only started just recently reading romance. So I have really only read few Harlequin. But here is my list.
McKettrick’s Luck, Linda Lael Miller
McKettrick’s Pride, Linda Lael Miller
McKettrick’s Heart, Linda Lael Miller
Dark Seduction, Brenda Joyce
Paying With Fire, Gena Showalter
I would really love to win a few new books.
I’m listing my five because “I can” and this looks fun! I’m not entering the contest, however.
The Gentleman, Dorothy Garlock w/a Dorothy Glenn
The Helltraiser, Dorothy Garlock, w/s Dorothy Glenn
The Yankee, Candace Camp w/a Kristin James
Abbie’s Child, Linda Castle
Wait For the Sunrise, Cassandra Austin
I’ve only read a few Harlequin historicals, so my list is pretty short.
The Mysterious Miss M by Diane Gaston
The Irreputable Rake by Diane Gaston
The Captain’s Lady by Margaret McPhee
I recently just started reading Harlequin but have not yet read any of the historicals – though I plan to as soon as I’m able. Instead, I’m listing the five that I’m most looking forward to reading. Hope that’s OK:
The Roman’s Virgin Mistress by Michelle Styles
Lord of Scandal by Nicola Cornick
Forbidden Lady by Anne Herries
Crusader’s Lady by Lynna Banning
Warrior or Wife by Lyn Randal
The Mysterious Miss M by Diane Gaston
Lord of Scandal by Nicola Cornick
The Viscount’s Bride by Ann Elizabeth Cree
His Lady’s Mistress by Elizabeth Rolls
The Rake’s Mistress by Nicola Cornick
Beau Crusoe – Carla Kelly
Taming the Highlander – Terri Brisbin
The Mysterious Miss M – Diane Gaston
A Reputable Rake – Diane Gaston
The Dutiful Rake – Elizabeth Rolls
Gallant Waif — Gracie
Tallie’s Knight — Gracie
Golden Paradise — Susan Johnson
The Wagering Widow — Diane Gaston
Beau Crusoe — Carla Kelly
I don’t have 5. I suck at reading historicals.
Highland Sword by Ruth Langan – sticks out for me. I tend to go for the medieval ones.
Deborah Simmons had made a great impression on me:
The Devil Earl
Tempting Kate
The Last Roge
The Gentleman Thief
The Robber Bride
*sadly I never did manage to find her book The Vicar’s Daughter
Hi, Sybil. I was always lurking but this contest seems so fun that I’m delurking now.
I’ve only read translated books (in Japanese), I picked up from them.
The Vicar’s Daughter / Deborah Simmons
Talli’s Knight / Anne Gracie
Silent Knight / Tori Phillips
I love books with humor, wit and lovable caracters. These three always make me smile, laugh and cry. I would add the DeBurge series by Simmons if I could.
Short Straw Bride / Dallas Schultze
Pearl / Ruth Langan
I like westerns but we have very few of them. (The publishers says westerns don’t sell in Japan. I really want to read Cheryl Reavis’ historicals. *sob*)
Quick list:
The Vicar’s Daughter–Deborah Simmons
Short Straw Bride–Dallas Schulze
The Duchess Next Door–Terri Brisbin
The Gladiator’s Honor–Michelle Sytles
His Second Hand Wife–Cheryl St. John
Actually you can replace His Second Hand Wife with any of CSJ’s other books all are very good.
Tara
Pam Crooks- Wanted; Her Lone Protector
Nicola Cornick-Lord Greville’s Captive
Joanne Rock- My Lady’s Favor; The Laird’s Lady
Warrior or Wife by Lyn Randal
The Rake’s Redemption by Georgina Devon
The Abducted Heiress by Claire Thornton
The Earl’s Secret by Terri Brisbin
Bachelor Duke by Mary Nichols
Here it is – the HH titles that are currently shelved with my keepers:
The Bride Fair by Cheryl Reavis – I need to reread this one. Southern girl “in trouble” finds herself marrying a Yankee officer.
Married By Midnight by Judith Stacy – Hero wagers with a friend that he can marry a girl in 30 days. The heroine has had feelings for him for years, and when she finds out he married her over some silly wager she’s fit to be tied.
Prairie Wife by Cheryl St. John – my favorite St. John. A marriage in trouble story that rips your heart out.
The Horseman by Jillian Hart – OMG, I am half in love with this hero! Heroine just miscarried, asshole husband dumps her, family treats her like dirt, hero vows to take care of her.
And one that wasn’t a keeper, but I enjoyed quite a bit – Winning Jenna’s Heart by Charlene Sands. Heroine nurses gunshot hero back to health thinking it’s her pen pal fiance’. Turns out he’s a no-good gambler just like her brother.
All westerns (big shock!) except for the Stacy that takes place in very late 19th century Los Angeles. Great setting!
I’m frantically copying down titles and authors. Whose got time to add their own list?
The Greek Tycoon’s Ultimatum by Lucy Monroe
The Greek’s Christmas Baby by Lucy Monroe
The Lawman’s Bride by Cheryl St. John
The Bride Fair by Cheryl Reavis
Lord Greville’s Captive by Nicola Cornick
I liked the characters in all these books and believed the emotions in them.
