I haven’t gotten very far into Untamed Cowboy yet but I do have to say… those three ladies… REALLY need to write something fluffy!
Think Happy, happy, joy, joy… just for minute gals ;).
Of course maybe that is why the west is so interesting and why reading about the taming of an untamed land and untamable men holds such an appeal. What is right and proper often takes a backseat to living.
But as hard as life could be, nothing shows the strength of the human spirit as much as a western. There was such a chance of reinvention in the west, anything was possible. And the old west had feminism, before it was a ‘movement’.
Pam Crooks often takes these themes and runs with them. In Wanted! Lark Renault, alias Wild Red, is a former outlaw trying to be respectable. Her Lone Protector has Gina Briganti leaving her native Sicily to start a new life in America. Juliette Blanchard is trying to prove herself as a business woman and build a hotel, in 1892!
Harlequin Historical is much more than just how the west was won but Pam, along with Cheryl and Elizabeth do a grand job of doing that job. And making the western something everyone should want to read, the cowboy boots and hat are opinonal ;).
