I had a chance to talk to Lisa Kleypas the other day, who is busy working on her follow up novel to Sugar Daddy. She reminded me once again why I like her, she really is THAT nice. She also commented on how much she appreciates so many people taking a chance on a historical author gone contemporary and in hardcover no less.
There were a few things I learned, which might be of interest to you. Or maybe I am the only one who didn’t know *g*.
** The Mass Market of Sugar Daddy will be out in Feb or March 2007 (that could change)
** They are aiming to have the sequel to Sugar Daddy (Hardcover) out around the same time or a few weeks after
** The sequel (unnamed and I forgot to ask if there was a working title) will be in 1st person, which seems to be a challenge she is enjoying but promises the historical novels are not going 1st person
** There will be more of a focus on the ‘romance’ in this novel than Sugar Daddy
Lisa did say she is having a time of it right now (threw out a ton of pages!!) and is really busy with real life but she is still in romanceland and will try to connect as time allows (squawk has even reprinted some of her older posts although there is a cute post up on their offices up now). And did confirm she will be back for a guest author day in October for Mine Til Midnight.
