REVIEW: Bayou Dreaming by Lexi Blake
Veena’s review of Bayou Dreaming (Butterfly Bayou, Book 3) by Lexi Blake
Contemporary Romance published by Berkley 01 Dec 20
Given all the time recently spent in the kitchen following recipes, I must say that Lexi Blake combines the right amounts of emotion, romance, and conflict with a pinch of this and that to create a beautiful love story. I have been reading Ms. Blake for some time, but I feel that this series showcases her as a romance writer full of depth and sensitivity.
REVIEW: Bucked by Tara Sue Me
Sandy M’s review of Bucked by Tara Sue Me
Contemporary Erotic Romance published by After Six Publishing 27 Feb 20
It’s quite disheartening when one of a favorite author’s books doesn’t quite work for you, isn’t it? You’ve come to love a certain series or the last five releases, and you can’t wait for the next book. This was me back in February – yes, it’s taken me that long to get to the review point of this one – when I opened this book. I was expecting a special erotic time with the characters before I even began reading. What I got?
REVIEW: Don’t Look Back by Christie Craig
Veena’s review of Don’t Look Back (Texas Justice, Book 3) by Christie Craig
Romantic Suspense published by Forever 15 Dec 20
Bree Ryan is in pursuit of her suspect in a “borrowed” car, speeding down a Texas highway when she’s pulled over by the local police. She uses her get-out-of-jail card, but leaves the patrol officer handcuffed to a pillar by the side of the road, nursing a tender spot after she kneed him. What a great way to begin what turns out to be an exciting story with all suspense, romance, and action that I’ve come to crave in my stories. Oh, and the best bonus of all, the discovery of an author that I have not read before with a back list that’s going to be exciting to catch up on.
REVIEW: Love on Beach Avenue by Jennifer Probst
Veena’s review of Love On Beach Avenue (Sunshine Sisters, Book 1) by Jennifer Probst
Contemporary Romance published by Montlake 01 May 20
Be it the groom’s ring bearer dog peeing in the aisle before the bride can walk down or the best man puking his guts out or an ex-boyfriend showing up to contest the wedding, Avery Sunshine, as CEO of Maine’s leading Bridal company, can handle any and all disasters with aplomb. Wedding Planning 101 and jostling for position between the wedding planner and man of honor kicks off what looks to be a delightful trilogy from one of my favorite contemporary romance authors.
REVIEW: Two Rogues Make a Right by Cat Sebastian
Stevie‘s review of Two Rogues Make a Right (Seducing the Sedgwicks, Book 3) by Cat Sebastian
Gay and Bisexual Historical Romance published by Avon Impulse 23 Jun 20
When I reviewed the previous book in the series, I was keen to learn more about Martin and Will. This time around, I got my wish. Unlike the pairings in the other books, Martin and Will have known each other for most of their lives. Although they have been apart for much of their adulthood, they have kept in touch by letters until quite recently. Now, however, both have been broken by their experiences, and Martin in particular is also in very poor health. So much so, in fact, that Will has kidnapped him and brought him out of London to a tiny cottage on one of Martin’s country estates.

Clearly from the title, we know that our protagonists don’t start out as lovers or even friends. This gives readers a taste for the deliciousness that is set to unfold for their reading pleasures during this story. read more…
REVIEW: Gone with the Rogue by Amelia Grey
Veena’s review of Gone with the Rogue (First Comes Love, Book 2) by Amelia Grey
Historical Romance published by St. Martin’s Paperbacks 28 Apr 20
English society in the regency period is full of double standards and very restrictive towards women in general and noble women in particular. Julia Fairbright would love to buck the system, but she’s held back by her father-in-law, a duke holding her son hostage to her good behavior. All bets are off, though, when she’s discovered in Hyde Park in a tree by the most notorious rake of all.
REVIEW: The Bribe by Willa Nash
Sandy M’s review of The Bribe (Calamity, Montana, Book 1) by Willa Nash
Contemporary Romance published by Devney Perry LLC 15 Oct 20
This is Devney Perry’s foray into romantic suspense with a new and shiny pseudonym, and I knew I would love it when I initially I read about this debut book in the Calamity, Montana series. I’m happy to say I was so very right. From first crazy meeting to learning about all secrets that will slowly and eventually come along, this story has it all, especially an alpha and compassionate hero who goes after what he wants.

With COVID-19, this story about a virus gone rogue hits pretty close to home. Roman and Isabel are adversaries from the get-go, especially since the virus was stolen out of a protected lab run by Isabel, and Roman is the secret ops guy hired to find the thieves and prevent a fatal outbreak. The story moves fast, chilling and thrilling readers with quite a few curve balls to keep the nerves humming.

Veena’s review of Madame President by Tara Sue Me
Contemporary Romance published by After Six Publishing 06 Oct 20
This book is a total departure from Ms. Sue Me’s earlier erotic fare. This is a beautiful story of two people who find love despite all odds. Anna Fritzpatrick is determined to focus on her job as the President of the United States, giving up all thoughts of a personal relationship. But then when an old acquaintance becomes part of her press pool, he poses an irresistible temptation. Will she break a campaign promise for love?
