I have to admit when I discovered this book is about one of the Treasure State Wildcats students, I was a bit wary. The older I get anymore, the more a lot of younger characters don’t work for me. Even though my angst and other youthful whatnot was years ago, I don’t necessarily want to live it again through anyone else – even my romance heroes and heroines. Fortunately, at least for me, Devney Perry is so very good at her craft.

The War of Lost Hearts trilogy is a literary masterpiece and one of the best series I’ve ever read. The plot, the characters, the twists, the tension, the politics, it’s all PERFECT. Tisaanah is an incredible MC and Max is in my top five book boyfriends for sure. He can easily hold his own against the likes of Rowan and Rhysand.

I should know better than to doubt Ms. Kery and her books. Early on in Daring Time there is slight reference to the hero being into BDSM. I gave a half-hearted groan, thinking that doesn’t bode well for me during the reading of this book. While I do read books here and there which contain elements of this lifestyle, the stories usually don’t work for me, mainly because sex scenes are liberally sprinkled with those elements just for the heck of it. Ms. Kery, however, gives the reader a good story that encompasses such habits which is only a small part of the characters’ lives and clearly enhances the enjoyment of those lives. read more…

It’s obviously been a while since I’ve kept up with Shana Abe’s Drakon series. I’m not sure why I didn’t read this book back in 2010 when it hit the shelves, because I am a fan of the series. I’m glad, however, I finally got to it, and I definitely missed both her storytelling and her dragons. I like that these Drakon all have different powers aside from shifting into such beautiful and dangerous creatures. Honor Carlisle is the most intriguing yet among the dragons, with Alexandru a close second. Ms. Abe’s imagination is amazing and spectacular, as readers discover with each book in this incredible world. read more…

I have to say I wouldn’t have read this book if not for two things – the review at AAR and I like Mary Balogh’s writing.
I have a real hard time with cheating. Now, it doesn’t bother me if it is before the hero meets the heroine. I can get past it if it is before they are sexually involved. But once the main characters are having sex, the whole mistress thing pisses me off.
