REVIEW: The Au Pair by Emma Rous
Stevie‘s review of The Au Pair by Emma Rous
Contemporary Women’s Mystery Fiction published by Berkley 08 Jan 19
I love it when a really twisty mystery emerges from just one small inconsistency, particularly when that previously missed detail has the characters doubting everything they previously held to be true. Of course, the solution to the mystery has to be properly satisfying for the premise to work properly.
REVIEW: Outlaw’s Promise by Helena Newbury
Kristie J’s review of Outlaw’s Promise (O’Harra Brothers, Book 4) by Helena Newbury
Contemporary Romance published by Foster & Black 21 Oct 16
Wowzers!! I did not see this one coming. I’d just finished a book and was scrolling up and down my Kindle list of books, when my finger just sort of stopped on this book. I’m thinking it’s fate. Normally I do a bit of research before starting to read a new-to-me author. I check the starred reviews on GoodReads. though I don’t read any until after I finish a book so as not to be influenced. I’m not really a MC Club reader, so if I’d himnoticed that when I started reading, well, I might not have started this book, and what a true gem I would have missed.
REVIEW: Hannah by Chris Keniston
Dinca’s review of Hannah (Farraday Country, Book 8) by Chris Keniston
Contemporary Romance published by Indie House Publishing 25 July 17
It’s hard to believe I am on Book 8 and still enjoying the series. Ms. Keniston is definitely going strong. Sean Farraday’s children have all been married off in their own interesting stories. Hannah Farraday is the first of the three cousins in the series. I will continue reading them all.
REVIEW: Out of Time by Monica McCarty
Veena’s review of Out of Time (Lost Platoon, Book 3) by Monica McCarty
Romantic Suspense published by Berkley 31 Dec 18
This series kicked off with a bang! A top-secret SEAL team mission’s compromised and a betrayal at the highest level. Secret survivors hide off the grid and are hunted by friends or enemies? All included with excitement and romance too. This sounded like the highest grade of catnip for a reader like me. Alas…
REVIEW: Someone to Trust by Mary Balogh
Stevie‘s review of Someone to Trust (Westcott Novels, Book 5) by Mary Balogh
Historical Romance published by Berkley 27 Nov 18
I’m enjoying following the reactions of the various members of the Westcott family to their differing changes in status and fortune, and while the heroine of this novel is someone who is the least directly affected by the former Earl of Riverdale’s bigamy, she’s been shown throughout the series to have issues of her own to contend with. In spite of that, she’s always been on hand to help others with their problems, and so it’s about time she got some happiness of her own in return.
REVIEW: Seeking Sanctuary by Annie Anderson
Kristie J’s review of Seeking Santuary (Shelter Me, Book 1) by Annie Anderson
Contemporary Romance published by Amazon Digital Services 17 Jul 18
First off, if you read the outline for this book, don’t believe it. I don’t know who came up with it, but whoever did makes it sound like there might be a triangle – but there isn’t even a hint of one, so I don’t know what that’s all about.
REVIEW: Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet
Veena’s review of Nightchaser by Amanda Bouchet
Sci-fi Futuristic Fantasy Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 01 Jan 19
From a universe of myth, magic, and ancient gods, Ms. Bouchet, author of the Kingmaker Chronicles, takes us into a Star Wars-like space odyssey, where Captain Tessa Bailey, the emperor’s daughter, is fueling the rebellion to take down the evil empire ruled by her father. In the first of a three-part series, Tessa uncloaks herself, lays down the gauntlet, and takes on the evil empire. Relax, fellow readers, this is a romance and the author hasn’t short changed us in the love and chemistry department.

REVIEW: A Charm Like You by Sharla Lovelace
Veena’s review of A Charm Like You (Charmed In Texas, Book 5) by Sharla Lovelace
Contemporary Romance published by Lyrical Shine 25 Dec 18
Sweet, quirky, fun – all of the things that I look for in a contemporary romance. I’m glad I didn’t know the series was already five deep when I got the ARC for this book, since I might have missed out on an opportunity to discover a new-to-me author and a series of, I hope, light and quirky romances just in time for the holidays.
