REVIEW: Rowankind by Jacey Bedford

Book CoverStevie‘s review of Rowankind (Rowankind, Book 3) by Jacey Bedford
Historical Fantasy published by DAW 27 Nov 18

I love the world-building in the Rowankind trilogy, drawing so strongly on real history and actual historical figures, especially since that’s backed up by excellent characterisation, believable character relationships, and strong plotting. In this, the third of the trilogy, Ross and Corwyn are ready to settle down in married bliss, but first they have any number of magical problems to deal with, many of which are a consequence of their previous actions in trying to save the world.

Book CoverSammy’s review of Cowboy Wolf Trouble (Seven Range Shifters, Book 1) by Kait Ballenger
Paranormal Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 01 Jan 19

Shifters, Vampires, and Humans, Oh My! I don’t do resolutions, I feel like it’s setting myself up for failure. But! This year I did decide to read more new-to-me authors. Last year I found myself really loving books from authors I’ve never read before. I’m happy to report, even though the beginning was touch and go, I’ve found another author that I’ll be glomming her backlist. If you love paranormal romance, please don’t pass up this great book. Awesome world building, insane cast of characters, some hot loving makes this first book in the Seven Range Shifters series hard to put down.

REVIEW: Prisoner Of Night by J.R. Ward

Book CoverSammy’s review of Prisoner Of Night (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 16.5) by J.R. Ward
Paranormal Romance published by Gallery Books 07 Jan 19

A surprise short story in the Black Dagger Universe was a pleasant surprise. After Dearest Ivie, I was interested in more of the world surrounding the brotherhood. Unfortunately, I am left with more questions than answers. I do love these shorter stories before the big book comes out. After reading Prisoner Of Night, I decided to catch up in her BDB Legacy Series. I loved Blood Vow and I am moving on to Blood Fury, before Blood Truth comes out later this year. I am excited to read The Savior, because how many years have we all waited to get Muhrder’s story! After watching a Facebook live Q&A with J.R. Ward, I may be a little optimistic with future books. REVIEW: Texas Legacy by Lorraine Heath

Book CoverSandy M’s review of Texas Legacy (Texas, Book 3.5) by Lorraine Heath
Historical Romance published by Avon Impulse 15 Jan 18

For fans of Lorraine Heath’s western romance series, we’ve been waiting a very long time for this story. We get to see Rawley and Faith all grown up with pasts they have to face, if there’s to be a future for them. That’s where Ms. Heath’s writing is always leagues ahead of a good portion of authors out there, especially in a novella. Her character development, even in a shorter book, can’t be surpassed.

Contemporary Romance published by Entangled August 14 Jan 19

Determined to expand my reading horizons, I picked up this sweet and sexy contemporary romance by an unknown-to-me author. From the get-go I enjoyed the sparks between the two protagonists and the determination on the part of our millionaire to win the fair lady, who definitely has a chip on her shoulder where money is concerned.

REVIEW: Evidence of Desire by Lexi Blake

Book CoverVeena’s review of Evidence of Desire (Courting Justice, Book 2) by Lexi Blake
Romantic Suspense published by Berkley 08 Jan 19

This story has the great characters with the right amount of heated spice that we have grown to expect from the author.  In addition, the story, the mystery, and suspense will keep readers guessing all the way to the end. What makes this story stand out, however, is the emotional heart that comes from the sensitivity with which the author deals with the issues of memory impairment and aging.  Perhaps this struck a strong emotional chord with me personally, because as I am getting older, these issues are striking closer to home as I watch friends and family dealing with similar heartbreak.

Contemporary Romance published by Lyrical Caress 10 Jul 18

Lee Kilraine is a new-to-me author this year, all in my quest to find new favorites because a few of my all-time faves have begun to miss the mark for me lately. And because I’m a huge fan of stories about brothers, I had hope the Throne bros would hit the spot.
