REVIEW: My Ex-Best Friend’s Wedding by Wendy Wax
Sandy M’s review of My Ex-Best Friend’s Wedding by Wendy Wax
Contemporary Romance published by Berkley 14 May 19
It’s been a number of years since I’ve read Wendy Wax. So when the blurb for this book tweaked my interest, I decided to give it a go. I liked the idea of a family wedding gown being passed down through the generations, something Ms. Wax has taken from her own family as inspiration. What I didn’t expect is a heroine who just doesn’t know when to let go.
REVIEW: Tightrope by Amanda Quick
Veena’s review of Tightrope by Amanda Quick
Romantic Suspense published by Berkley 07 May 19
There’s a lot going on in this newest murder mystery from Ms. Quick. Amalie turns the tables on her would be killer on the trapeze and retires to run a Bed and Breakfast in Burning Cove only to have her only paying guest fall victim to a robot inspired shooting. As various characters turn up the author maintains a good sense of mystery between events from the aborted murder in the circus top and the new murder in Burning Cove. Of course a touch of romance and rumors of the mob add a nice touch of spice to the story.
REVIEW REVISIT: Seduced at Midnight by Jacquie D’Alessandro
Devon’s review of Seduced at Midnight (Mayhem in Mayfair, Book 3) by Jacquie D’Alessandro
Historical Romance published by Berkley Sensation 6 Jan 09

I love romance across class lines. It’s one of the most compelling storylines in historical romance. So I was definitely into Seduced at Midnight, which features an earl’s daughter and a Bow Street Runner. The third in a series, but the first I’ve read, this tale of murder and star-crossed romance was pleasant, if not especially memorable.

Stevie‘s review of American Dreamer (Dreamers, Book 1) by Adriana Herrera
Contemporary Multicultural Gay Romance published by Carina Press 04 Mar 19
Food and romance are generally a good combination for book themes, in my opinion, particularly when I get to read about recipes and cuisines that are new to me. Stories where one or more of the protagonists is working hard to bring the thing they love, be that food or another shared experience, to the notice of more people are also a good thing, so this story of a new food business and a new library project and the interaction between their initiators was just my sort of thing.
REVIEW: Fumbled by Alexa Martin
Tabs’ review of Fumbled by Alexa Martin
Contemporary Romance published by Berkley 23 Apr 19
Alexa Martin follows up her debut novel with a football romance involving reunited childhood sweethearts. Despite class differences, Poppy and TK were a solid team in high school, until he started his freshman year of college and left her to deal with an accidental teen pregnancy on her own. At least, that’s what Poppy always thought happened. A decade later, they cross paths at her place of work and their relationship, as complicated as it is, is rekindled.
REVIEW: Then Came You by Kate Meader
Veena’s review of Then Came You (Laws of Attraction, Book 3) by Kate Meader
Contemporary Romance published byLoveswept 07 May 19
What an ending to this series! The chemistry between Audrey and Grant has simmered all through the series and I just couldn’t wait to see how their story would play out. Not only is Ms. Meader one of my all-time favorite contemporary romance writers, but this story sets the seal on why she holds that place in my affections.
REVIEW: The Yankee Widow by Linda Lael Miller
Sandy M’s review of The Yankee Widow by Linda Lael Miller
Historical Romance published by MIRA 7 May 19
I’ve not read a lot of historical romance lately, only because the few I have read let me down and left me wanting more. But old favorites like Linda Lael Miller have relit the fuse I need to get back to history when I read. This book is one of the best I’ve come across in a while. And because I didn’t realize it’s also the start of a new series for her, I’m already anxiously waiting for the next one, and I have a feeling it’s going to be as great as this story.

REVIEW: Sniper’s Pride by Megan Crane
Sammy’s review of Sniper’s Pride (Alaska Force, Book 2) by Megan Crane
Romantic Suspense published by Berkley 07 May 19
I need to tell you upfront, I simply love this series. The men of Alaska Force are grumpy and obstinate and very sexy and tough and maybe a little damaged. The women of this series have a backbone, determination, and a lot of patience. While this book came close to Book 1 in terms of LOVING IT and I will go back and re-read it, it almost followed Book 1’s ingredients too closely. I did notice it and I would rather each book dealt with how each individual deals with their issues. It didn’t take away from enjoying this story, but I think if Book 3 travels along the same setup toward the end, the shine may be dulled.
REVIEW: The Charmer in Chaps by Julia London
Sandy M’s review of The Charmer in Chaps (Princes of Texas, Book 1) by Julia London
Contemporary Romance published by Berkley 7 May 19
It’s been a few years since I’ve read Julia London. So when I saw the title and cover of this book, I couldn’t wait to get it in hand. I love a cowboy, so any stories about one is sure to win my heart. Luca Prince does that in spades, and then some. How does our heroine, Ella, fare? Stick with me to find out.
