REVIEW: A Touch of Forever by Jo Goodman
Sandy M’s review of A Touch of Forever (Cowboys of Colorado, Book 3) by Jo Goodman
Historical Romance published by Berkley 4 Jun 19
Every time I think Jo Goodman has written my favorite characters ever, the next book always shows me how wrong I am. We met Lily in an earlier book, know all about her nearly unbearable life, and now we pick up to see how she’s doing after the horrible event that has left her and her children free at last. Thank goodness Roen doesn’t back down each time he intersects with Lily and the kids.
REVIEW REVISIT: If He’s Sinful by Hannah Howell
Holly‘s review of If He’s Sinful (Wherlocke, Book 2) by Hannah Howell
Historical Paranormal Romance released by Zebra 01 Dec 09

I’m really glad to see Howell moving away from her Murray series and into new territory. Though I am concerned that she’s planning to exchange one large, eccentric family for another. read more…
REVIEW: Spinning Tales by Brey Willows
Stevie‘s review of Spinning Tales by Brey Willows
Lesbian Fantasy Romance published by Bold Strokes Books 12 Mar 19
I’m a great fan of fairy tale retellings and reimaginings, as well as always being keen to learn new traditional stories and fables. Having enjoyed the Afterlife, Inc series, I was keen to see how Brey Willows would handle a very different type of mythology. And she certainly delivered this time. New York accountant Maggie McShay enlivens her relatively unexciting life by reading the personal ads and picturing the sort of people who place and answer them, until one day she sees one that she can’t resist replying to herself: a job opportunity for someone to take care of a fairy tale cottage for a year. But neither the ad, the cottage, nor Maggie’s newly taken-in cat, are quite what they seem at first glance.
REVIEW: Things We Never Said by Samantha Young
Sandy M’s review of Things We Never Said (Hart’s Boardwalk, Book 3) by Samantha Young
Contemporary Romance published by Amazon Digital Services 7 Man 19
I always enjoy visiting Hartwell, Delaware in Samantha Young’s Hart’s Boardwalk series. This time, however, some time during the story is spent in Boston as we delve into the troubled life of family and love of Dahlia McGuire. The story slips from Dahlia’s first-person POV to her young lost love Michael Sullivan’s third-person point of view, all of which I enjoyed, getting a better look at everything from both characters’ flashbacks and current situation.
REVIEW: What Happens When by Samantha Boyette
Stevie‘s review of What Happens When by Samantha Boyette
Contemporary Young Adult LGBT Fiction published by Bold Strokes Books 12 Mar 19
One thing I like about Young Adult romance is its unpredictability compared to more grown-up subgenres. Sometimes I can get almost to the end before knowing how things will work out for our main protagonist, and that was very much the case here. One week before she’s due to go back to school after the summer, Molly Kennan accidentally outs herself as a lesbian by getting drunk at a party and making out with the host’s cousin. Although Molly’s parents and younger brother are supportive of her, Molly’s best friend – the daughter of a preacher – no longer wants anything to do with her and does her utmost to turn everyone else against Molly too. Just to confuse things further, Lily – the girl Molly made out with – has transferred to their school, having had a rough time since coming out of her own accord at her previous place.
REVIEW: King’s Ransom by Jackie Ashenden
Veena’s review of King’s Ransom (Kings of Sydney, Book 3) by Jackie Ashenden
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Dare 01 Apr 19
This is a tale of good intentions that pave the road to hell or, perhaps in this case, it might be heaven. Ajax King has the purest of motives when he kidnaps a rising crime lord’s daughter in an attempt to keep his town clean of crime. Imogen is an innocent and determined to derail all of Ajax’s plans. read more…
REVIEW: A Rogue by Night by Kelly Bowen
Sandy M’s review of A Rogue by Night (Devils of Dover, Book 3) by Kelly Bowen
Historical Romance published by Forever 28 May 19
I’ve been searching for a new historical author to read, and I may have found that in Kelly Bowen. I didn’t know until I finished this book that it’s the third in a series. That didn’t alter my enjoyment of the story one bit.
REVIEW: Can’t Escape Love by Alyssa Cole
Stevie‘s review of Can’t Escape Love (Reluctant Royals, Book 3.5) by Alyssa Cole
Contemporary Romance published by Avon Impulse 19 Mar 19
I enjoyed the first novel and novella in this series and, although I was disappointed by the plot of the second novel, I found the characters in that one engaging too. This time we’re spending time with the twin sister of that novel’s heroine, who has already been around to provide help and support, albeit mostly virtually and from a distance, along with a new-to-us character for her hero.
REVIEW REVISIT: Zen and the Art of Vampires by Katie MacAlister
Devon’s review of Zen and the Art of Vampires (Dark Ones, Book 6) by Katie MacAlister
Contemporary paranormal Romance released by Signet 2 Dec 08
Original review posted 13 Jan 09
Katie MacAlister’s Dark Ones series started out as quite enjoyable but soon began to lose steam. I took a pass on the last couple of books, but when this one arrived, it suited the mood I was in perfectly. Like MacAlister’s other paranormal series, this book does not have a self-contained happy ending. I assume it’ll take one more book to get there. Read on to see whether or not I’ll be sticking around for the next one. read more…
REVIEW: Sniper’s Pride by Megan Crane
Veena’s review of Sniper’s Pride (Alaska Force, Book 2) by Megan Crane
Romantic Suspense published by Berkley 07 May 19
I have been somewhat adventuresome these past two months experimenting with new authors. I jumped into this one without realizing that it’s the second in a series, though I had no trouble keeping up and enjoying the story. I will definitely be looking for more books in this series. read more…
