Kaitlyn‘s review of Shatter Me (Shatter Me, Book 1) by Tehereh Mafi
Young Adult published by HarperCollins 15 Nov 11

“I spent my life folded between the pages of books.”

Our actions have harmed the planet. There’s too few crops, animals can’t survive. People are dying, they’re desperate for hope. The Reestablishment has seized control.

Juliette is different from others. She never wanted to hurt anyone. She’s been locked away because of what she can do. Now the Reestablishment wants to use her as a weapon.

The chaotic, unhinged writing that’s supposed to reflect the disorder of Juliette’s mind is riveting. I love it. I could totally see how of the organization of this book might not be for everyone. I find it absolutely addictive. I didn’t want to put it down.

If you’re one the few who hasn’t read this series yet, don’t wait any longer. I’m definitely going to fly through these books. I’m obsessed. This is the new series I’m latching onto and letting take over my life.

Grade: A

Summary:

One touch is all it takes. One touch, and Juliette Ferrars can leave a fully grown man gasping for air. One touch, and she can kill.

No one knows why Juliette has such incredible power. It feels like a curse, a burden that one person alone could never bear. But The Reestablishment sees it as a gift, sees her as an opportunity. An opportunity for a deadly weapon.

Juliette has never fought for herself before. But when she’s reunited with the one person who ever cared about her, she finds a strength she never knew she had.
