Veena’s review of Christmas with a Billionaire by Carole Mortimer, Maisey Yates & Joss Woods
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Anthologies 30 Sep 14

Is it time for Christmas already? It’s hard to believe that the year is moving rapidly to a close and all these heartwarming stories are here to ring in the holidays. Clearly, it makes it a better holiday if you’re rich? Or does it?

Billionaire Under The Mistletoe by Carole Mortimer

This novella starts off with a bang when millionaire Max Hamilton asks his PA to have Christmas delivered to his apartment. Fortunately for Sally and the bonus that Max proposes to pay, her cousin Sophie comes to the rescue.

Sophie is spending Christmas alone, without all the traditions that she’s used to, especially after the recent loss of her mother. She volunteers to help create a traditional Christmas for Max, his sister, and niece. Of course, mistletoe and the season bring out a miracle not just for Max and Sophie but also for his sister and her estranged husband.

Delightful story that hits all the right notes.

We kick off with a Christmas Carol-like beginning when Amelia brings an innovative approach to requesting time off from her boss, Luc. Unfortunately, he’s not buying and, instead, she finds herself travelling on his private plane to Aspen to look into a resort that he plans on purchasing.

Thanks to circumstances, they end up pretending to be a couple, and then close proximity leads to them delving under the covers – not just physically but emotionally. Can Amelia’s love help Luc to heal and repair the breach with his family, making it a very merry Christmas after all<

A Diamond For Christmas by Joss Woods

In my opinion, this story is not as strong as the other two, but, nevertheless, holds its own for a respectable finish to the anthology.

Grade: C

Headstrong Riley’s holiday run-in with hot gemstone tycoon James Moreau is unsettling to say the least. But she soon discovers that the only thing better than resisting temptation is finally giving in!
