Kaitlyn‘s review of The Love Wager by Lynn Painter
Contemporary Romance published by Berkley 14 Mar 23
This is one of my favorite books of 2023 so far! Highly recommend running to grab this book ASAP. It’s a thoroughly good time!
Love love LOVE this one. I was laughing so hard I was in tears multiple times reading this. It’s adorable and everything a fun, cute romcom should be. Some of the tropes included are friends to lovers, fake dating, and the beloved one bed. I had a blast reading this.
Just like with Mr. Wrong Number, I had to stay up late and binge this in one sitting. It’s just too cute to put down and I don’t regret the lost sleep for a second. Jack and Hallie are perfect, and Lynn Painter once again has knocked it out of the park.
Lynn Painter is right up there with Emily Henry and Abby Jiminez as one of my favorite romance writers!
Summary:
Bad luck has always followed Olivia Marshall…or maybe she’s just the screw-up her family thinks she is. But when a “What are you wearing?” text from a random wrong number turns into the hottest, most entertaining—albeit anonymous—relationship of her life, she thinks things might be on the upswing….
Colin Beck has always considered Olivia his best friend’s annoying little sister, but when she moves in with them after one of her worst runs of luck, he realizes she’s turned into an altogether different and sexier distraction. He’s sure he can keep his distance, until the moment he discovers she’s the irresistible Miss Misdial he’s been sort of sexting for weeks—and now he has to decide whether to turn the heat up or ghost her before things get messy.
