Sandy M’s review of The Naughty, the Nice and the Nanny (Holiday Brothers) by Willa Nash
Contemporary Holiday Romance novella published by Devney Perry LLC 4 Nov 21

Of the three novellas in this series, this one is my favorite. I love the fierceness of Maddox Holiday when it comes to his daughter’s happiness, even in the face of his ex’s seeming disinterest in the little girl. Natalie, the nanny in the title, is exactly what a mother should be, and Maddox doesn’t waste any time when it comes to making her part of his family.

Nat has been a nanny for a number of years, loving her job, but she knows she has more to offer. She’s just never gotten around to getting the extra education needed to go further. Even when she takes the last-minute nanny job with Maddox Holiday – her crush, as well as every other girl’s in their high school – she’s already lined up for the next family her firm has in the wings come the new year. But little does she know how her life is going to change in just a week’s time.

Seeing Maddox again, despite the fact he doesn’t recognize her all these years later, has her school-girl heart working overtime just like before. Meeting Violet, his daughter, is at first just a job due to her cantankerous attitude, but after winning the girl over, Nat is also won over by the sweet and charming child. Maddox is trying to keep it professional between them, but Natalie herself is difficult to resist, and when she clues him in as to what will help his little girl, well, that’s as sexy as hell. It doesn’t take him long to resolve their employer/employee issue so he can keep Natalie in his and Violet’s lives.

I really enjoyed the scenes between Maddox and Violet. The man’s love for her comes through in every one. As I said in my review of A Partridge and a Pregnancy, the Holiday family is fun and supportive when needed. Another quick and romantic Christmas story that will have you chuckling and sighing all the way through.

Grade: A

Summary:

One week with one little girl—an angel, according to my staffing agency. Acting as the short-term nanny for a single dad should have been an easy way to make some extra cash. Until I show up for my first day and face off with a demon disguised as a seven-year-old girl wearing a red tutu and matching glitter slippers.

Oh, and her father? My temporary boss? Maddox Holiday. The same Maddox Holiday I crushed on in high school. The same Maddox Holiday who didn’t even know I existed. And the same Maddox Holiday who hasn’t set foot in Montana for years because he’s been too busy running his billionaire empire.

Enduring seven days is going to feel like scaling the Himalayas in six-inch heels. Toss in the Holiday family’s annual soiree, and Christmas Eve nightmares really do come true. But I can do anything for a week, especially for this paycheck, even if it means wrangling the naughty, impressing the nice, and playing the nanny.
