Veena’s review of The Way Back to You (Blessings Georgia, Book 9) by Sharon Sala
Contemporary Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 31 Dec 19
Sully Raine’s search for his birth mother takes him to the town of Blessings, Georgia, where he’s in the right place to watch an accident happen and then rescue a woman trapped in her car. As it turns out, the woman is Melissa, his high school girlfriend that he’s never forgotten. Welcome to Blessings and a wonderful story of so many second chances.
While settling his parent’s estate, Sully discovered that he’d been adopted. Nothing would serve for this retired fireman than to find his birth mother. Following leads he finally finds his way to Blessings. Now that he’s rescued and discovered his high school girl friend Melissa, he decides to stay a while, even if he can’t find his birth mother in the town. Against the backdrop of small-town Americana, not only do Sully and Melissa rediscover each other, but there are possible clues to the fact that Sully reminds some of the townspeople of someone – not that the author lets her readers in on that secret until close to the end.
There’s an interesting paranormal twist that definitely will stretch your imagination, when a psychic artist guide not only paints Sully a picture of his birth father but also gives him clues that both parents are alive. Masterfully all the threads are pulled together to deliver not just one but two second-chance romances.
In today’s atmosphere of hate and divisiveness, the town of Blessings is a refreshing mix of good people who genuinely care about others and go out of their way to help out. This story is definitely a glass-half-full, sweet tale of romance viewed through rose-colored glasses, but it works and is a solid entry in this series.
