Book CoverSandy M’s review of Romantic Behavior (Bad Behavior, Book 4) by L.A. Witt & Cari Z
Contemporary Gay Romance published by Amazon Digital Services 13 Jan 18

I’m actually pretty bummed – this is the last book in the Bad Behavior series. Going along for the ride with Andreas and Darren has been one wild time. They’ve been through hell together since they met – and initially didn’t like each other all that much – and now they get their happily ever after, despite a rabid mother and her wedding planning that neither men finds they want.

Andreas is the older of this couple, set in his ways, does things his way, and isn’t all that romantic. But you have to give him props for trying to be, when he decides to propose to Darren. It doesn’t quite go the way he’d planned and hoped, but he gets the job done – especially when Darren thinks Andreas is about to break up with him. The romance still comes through, even though they’re coming from two different places at that point in time. Fun scene all the way around.

Then there’s Andreas’ mother. This is one woman who just doesn’t have it in the personality department. She’s abrupt and says what’s on her mind, good or bad, and most of it is bad when it comes to Andreas. It’s no wonder he’s holding on to Darren as tight as he can, needing love and understanding. They decide to go along with the wedding planning business, instead of eloping, and they both wonder here and there if eloping isn’t the way to go. Planning a wedding is hard work and they just want to be married. Period.

It finally does happen, but there’s fun and angst along the way. Andreas and Darren can get through anything, however, as long as they’re together. I’ve enjoyed these two detectives so much, and I’m happy we get this epilogue of sorts to make sure they are really happy. I do wish there were more books to be had in this series. I could read about them for some time to come. But I’m glad I met them.

Though this book can be read as a stand-alone, I wouldn’t recommend it. You need to start at the beginning to see their relationship grow and mature. I plan on finding another series by each of these authors. I like their writing together, so I have to hope individually they’re just as good.

Summary:

Detective Andreas Ruffner is no fool—he’s found a man who loves him, puts up with him, and has stuck with him through hell and back, and it’s time to put a ring on it. Darren Corliss is the love of his life, and he wants the whole world to know it.

Now the fun part — the wedding!

Well, after the not-so-fun part of planning the wedding in between dealing with overbearing and impossible-to-please family members. With future mothers-in-law driving them both up a wall, the guest list growing out of control, and the wedding getting ever more complicated, Darren and Andreas have to wonder if they’re in over their heads.

But they’re going to make it to the altar if it kills them . . . and at this rate, it just might.
