Dinca’s review of A Very Jaguar Christmas (Heart of the Jaguar Series, Book 5) by Terry Spear
Paranormal Romance published by Sourcebooks Casablanca 4 Oct 16
This is my first Terry Spear novel sent to me for review and my first shapeshifter book in a long while. I thoroughly enjoyed the story line. The characters are well developed and it’s easy to relate to their situations. It sounds like there may be a cubs versus the pups series, at least involving the shifter daycare. It will be on my to reading-in-bed list.
Guardian agent Demetria MacFarlane would love JAG agent Everett Anderson to ask her out. She understands how difficult it will be to work past the guilt of her boyfriend’s and Everett’s best friend and fellow agent’s death. Everett has no way of knowing that if Michael had proposed she would have said no. Since Michael had shared his intent to propose with Everett, he intends to follow the bro rule. Hands off your friend’s girl. Even after death.
When a young boy named Corey is dropped off at Everett’s mother’s daycare for shifter Jaguars, Everett discovers the boy is going to need a lot of help. Corey not only turns out to be a shifter, but he shifts into a wolf pup, a shifter form that they never knew existed. This is definitely not a child they can turn over to social services.
Everett and Demetria turn into great partners as they set out on a hunt to locate the child’s parents. The hunt involves a lot of traveling with Corey as their chaperone. It is adorable how they play with the little pup in cat form.
There are so many different aspects to the story it is hard to name them all in a short review. This is definitely one read you will not want to miss. It is part of a series, so I looks like I have some catching up to do.
Grade: A
Summary:
As a protector of all jaguar-kind, Guardian agent Demetria MacFarlane isn’t surprised to get a call near Christmas-but when she’s sent to protect a cub whose species she didn’t even know existed, her holiday season gets complicated. And it doesn’t help that her partner is a distraction of the hottest kind.
Hotshot JAG agent Everett Anderson can handle dangerous poachers and wildlife traffickers, no problem…but kids? Everett fears he’ll be stuck cub-sitting under the Christmas tree, but working with one sexy Guardian she-cat may be the best present he’s ever gotten.
