Tabs’ review of Loving You Easy (Loving on the Edge, Book 9) by Roni Loren
Erotic Romance published by Berkley 06 Sept 16
If you had told me earlier in the year that I’d get hooked on an established 9+ book BDSM erotic romance series, I would have told you you were flat-out crazy. And yet, here we are. Roni Loren is easily my favorite new-to-me-author of the year. I’m currently one full-length novel and one novella away from being totally caught up on this entire series and I could not be happier about that. Luckily, this latest is another knock out of the park, especially if you like a good menage relationship.
Leading lady Cora is a computer security expert freelancing after a fizzled office romance and a sexist boss resulted in a sticky situation. When her participation in an online BDSM game leads to real-life danger, she uncovers a serious and disturbing security breach in the program and takes the problem to the game’s owner.
In a convenient twist of fate, the owner, Ren, happens to be none other than the sexy dude she caught getting a blow-job in a hallway the night before at a business mixer. They affectionately dub each other “hallway girl” and “blow-job guy.” Nothing like some accidental voyeurism to kick-start an attraction. Cora and Ren then start working together to uncover the mystery surrounding the security breach in the game, while also making sex eyes at each other. Then Ren’s mysterious business partner Hayes enters the picture.
Ren and Hayes are longtime best friends and business partners who are very dedicated to each other. There’s also a great deal of feelings and longing on both sides. When they decide to throw caution to the wind and move their relationship to the next level, it’s pretty much effortless because they’ve been head over heels in love with each other for years.
“You think I would have put up with your broody ass for so long if I didn’t already love you?”
I’m a picky menage reader, but this one is a really well done. I’m always wary when there’s an established or somewhat established relationship and a third person gets thrown ino the mix, but Roni Loren makes it work here. The triad doesn’t come together effortlessly. Cora’s a tomboy geek with major insecurities whose last boyfriend jokingly referred to her as “a bro with a vagina.” So it takes a while for her to accept that these totally hot dudes are both into her and that she isn’t a third wheel in their relationship. Hayes also has major issues and is super wary of pretty much everyone who isn’t Ren, so that also makes for choppy waters. But they make things work and it’s totally satisfying.
I really enjoyed this romance. The triad is sexy and kinky and fun. Cora’s a smart, competent heroine with a backbone and that’s always a plus in my book. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for some good menage erotic romance.
