Veena’s review of Mine (Club Sin, Book 7) by Stacey Kennedy
Erotic Romance published by Loveswept 27 Oct 15
Dimitri and Presley are very key characters in this series. I find this book a bit unexpected but definitely thought provoking. Since it also serves as a launching pad to introduce the characters in the new series from Ms. Kennedy, it takes the focus away from the current story and leaves me wanting.
Dimitri started Club Sin, and while I don’t know if they’ve had a story before, Dimitri and Presley have been the perfect couple from the time I started delving into this series. It is not surprising then to see Dimitri become unraveled and act in very uncharacteristic ways, leaving Presley bereft and needing basic communication from her partner.
What I appreciate in this story is the typical relationship muddle that occurs in most romance stories as the man turns to being a typical male who doesn’t share his troubles with those close to him. This is a refreshingly different view of a dominant in most D/s stories. Things are clearly poised for change, and, since this is an erotic romance, I had every confidence that the relationship would get worked out, but, instead, of enjoying the twists and turns, I got lost and had a hard time working my way to the end.
The new series looks very interesting, especially having met the four featured gentlemen.
Grade: C
Summary:
Dmitri Pratt is living out his dream. Not only does he own the ultimate playground for the BDSM lifestyle, he’s found a special connection with his deliciously sexy sub, Presley Flynn, the woman who complements him in ways that go far beyond the bedroom. But when an anonymous blackmailer threatens to expose the elite, high-profile members of Club Sin in a notorious tabloid, Dmitri’s perfect world spirals out of control.
Before she met Dmitri, Presley never imagined she would find a Master who could deliver on all her hottest fantasies. Dmitri’s love and his sensual artistry surprise her every day, until he suddenly turns distant and cold. For the first time, Presley wonders where Dmitri’s heart truly lies: with her, or with Club Sin. As the life they’ve built together begins to crumble, Presley can only trust that Dmitri has what it takes—to defend what’s his, and win back the woman he cannot live without.
