Book CoverDinca’s review of Found At Sea by Anne Marie Duquette
Contemporary Romance published by Harlequin Heartwarming 1 May 13

Never let facts mess up a good story. I will have to stand by that premise for this book. Found at Sea has a good storyline, but as a diver I have an issue with the facts. However, you will find strong characters and amazing situations. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.

What I love about this book is it is off the beaten path. The heroine, Aurora, has an unusual line of work and the hero, Jordan, is on a mission to save his family heritage, only to discover my favorite saying, “People are more important than things.”

But with all the interesting family issues going on in the story, it is sometimes hard to keep up, though all the characters have well-developed, strong personalities.

Keep writing, Ms. Duquette, but please do not try to save anyone by giving them CPR underwater. That may read well or make a good scene in the movies, but it is not logical or doable to save a life. Another issue I have, and it almost made me put the book down, is the heroine’s legs wrapped around the pylons. Pylons are generally covered with crustaceans that are sharp, such as barnacles. No way is someone going to wrap their legs around a pylon and give someone CPR.  You may want to spend some additional research on waves, tides, and currents as well.

A Missing Birthright

Jordan Castillo is the only surviving son of a family that can trace its heritage back for centuries. He’s also a salvager looking for sunken treasure—Castillo treasure. And only one person can help him find it—a woman named Aurora Collins.

Aurora has her own reasons for agreeing to be Jordan’s partner. Reasons that, like his, have everything to do with family. As Jordan and Rory work together—as they both risk their lives—they learn to trust each other. But they’re not the only ones looking for Jordan’s birthright, as ruthless treasure hunters dog Jordan and Aurora’s every move. Has Rory finally found someone to love, only to lose him?
